Immediately thought of this sub...
... when I looked out the window and this beauty pulled up to check out the neighbor's neverending yard sale. 🙂

My dad had a Datsun 240Z when I was very young. When I first learned to drive, I had a Nissan 200SX (my second car), the sort-of descendant of the line.

That's a beauty of a car.

Looks like a nice restoration! My first car was a white 280z. Liked it so much my second car was a 280zx turbo. Miss those cars every day

Had an '81 280ZX. One of the most fun cars I've ever owned! I feel like the Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ is the spiritual successor.

I had an '83 280ZX with the t-tops. It was a blast!!

Yes! I had the t tops too. Drove to the beach once with a friend, about an hour and a half shirtless with the tops off, sun shining down. When we got there we were sunburned except for diagonal white stripes across our chests from the seatbelts. 😂

Mine was an '82 with t-tops! My first z was a '78 2+2, so not nearly as cool. ;-)

My first car was a white 79 280zx. That car was bulletproof.

I had a Mazda RX-7 w the rotary engine. The interior maintained its leather smell for the whole time I owned it. I miss that car!

I do. :eyes: Joking aside, my parents split/separated when I was 4.5. By the time I was 5 my dad was remarried and my mother moved us in with my future step father. My mom worked with/for my stepdad. My step-mom was a student (adult musicians... but still) of my fathers. 70's were a different time, man.

Sorry, man. Making a stupid joke.

All good brother - all jokes are rooted in some truth! And the 70s were a different time (worked out great for me. As terribly matched as my mom and dad were they 1. Made it nearly 15 years married, how I don’t know and 2. Both got it right the second time around. Each married or together 45 years now so all I remember is an odd stability rather than the opposite!

Right after I joined the Army I bought a used 1976 Datsun 280Z in a dark blue, kinda sparkly. I forgot the exact paint name. Those were the days.

A high school friend had a 240z and as much as he loved it I always thought the 260z looked cooler.

I had one! It was pretty beat up but I loved it. I had to get rid of it due to a deployment…I wish I could’ve kept it.

I wonder what the original owner's name was? I bet it was Rick.

That is my GenX dream car. I never owned a 240Z. I had a 260 and three 280s. When I was buying them it wasn't hard to find a mint condition Z car under 2k.
