If it’s a 4 lane interstate with 0 traffic at night I’m not slowing down. Depends on the area, time of day, traffic, and if there can be cops/cameras in that area.
I will always enter these at 58, after 2 miles of not one worker light or change I go back to normal driving. Chicago work zones are a different breed, they say uneven lanes they fucking mean uneven lanes bro.
Well, what kind of 55 zone? Inner city? State or County split speed limit? Construction zone? What time is it? Are there workers present? What's the rest of traffic doing?
I was the idiot today. Doing 65 on the turnpike in Oklahoma. Going into a work zone 55 posted. Suv passes me at 70ish then hits his brakes right in front of me slowing to 55. I hit the air horn and flash my brights while pushing the brake to avoid hitting him then immediately realize it's a cop. My fucking heart sank certain he was gonna fuck with me. After about two minutes that felt like two hours he sped off.
I’m not forfeiting any of my safety bonus just to speed through 55 mile an hour zones.
yes, they use software that monitors your speed and matches it to what the speed limit is for that area. We get reports every week.
