Is it true that Scottie and Adam didn't get along, or that they hated each other?

I only noticed it on a recent rewatch of some early episodes but there was a lot of what seemed like manufactured drama in the early seasons. I think Discovery was having big hits with shows like American Chopper which were build shows with drama and yelling. So they tried the same style with Mythbusters, before it really found its own style.

Yes, I agree 100%, they were following the standard recipe for reality shows. There must be some form of tension between the participants.
I've been watching all the episodes again, in a sequence from the beginning, and it becomes pretty obvious that those were manufactured by the producers.
As for Scottie, she didn't really fit. When the show first started I used to watch it whenever I could and had a crush on her, because I thought she was so pretty despite the tattoos. However, when Kari started appearing in the Build Team the difference between them was huge. Scottie seemed a bit awkward and insecure, Kari was a natural.
There was an episode when Adam asked her if she could weld a fitting to a pipe, her answer was "I've built bridges bigger than that". Then when they took the contraption to be filled with propane it leaked. I don't know if that was scripted or not, but Adam didn't ask her to fix it, he did it himself with super glue and epoxy.

Wtf does your crush on her or anyone on the show have to do with any of this? And despite the tattoos? People don’t need to not have tattoos in order to be attractive. Muppet. Hope the 4 years since you wrote this have been enough to grow up.

I hope you’ve started doing breathing exercises and taking blood pressure meds in the past two years

I heard that Scottie was largely behind the idea to rig the golden idol with the electric cattle fence, and that Adam's reaction to that prank offscreen wasn't 'family friendly' (to be more accurate, I read that he was livid), and that you don't see Scottie in any of the episodes that were filmed after that event. I think there was a producer that encouraged Scottie to do it that was also let go from that incident.

I heard this shock prank was pushed by a content director for her, and some others, to do. Jamie was a bit of a wanker over getting shocked. Scottie got the fallout from it. I thought she was cool. Never did care much for the "stash" and his attitude.

Someone corrected me in that it was Adam who got shocked. I thought he'd be more laid back than reacting.

Scottie actually got shocked by it too. Seems like a BS reason to get rid of Scottie. I love Grant, but I wish Scottie would have stayed around too.
TheRealJones1977@reddit
Jaime didn't get shocked by that.
gravity_inverted@reddit
Hmm, I thought had I read that. Do you have more info on this?

I stand corrected! Thank you! I apologize for that. Adam did.
Here's the real story:

I mean it WAS a cattle prod. Like there's funny electrocution and then there's actually painful or dangerous.
BAXterBEDford@reddit
I've had the pleasure of leaning up against an electrified fence. It's no fun.
gravity_inverted@reddit
Me to. Not really that horrible, but memorable.

Do cows drop over dead from them? it's mostly a fear people have about getting shocked. If you've ever worked on guitar tube amps, most other shocks are nil., unless they have amperage (and voltage) to back it up.
