Congratulations, driver! I don’t have any fueling stories. I’ll give you some pointers, though. If anyone holds up the line, just let it go. There’s no reason to get in a fight or end up on YouTube or in jail because of an ego battle. Next, don’t hold up the line. Get your fuel, wash your windows, check your fluids, pull up, use the bathroom, and go. The pull up line is not a place for you to go in and order from McDonald’s or to take a shower or to take a 30 minute break. Especially now, you can use the yard move feature on your ELD to go park for that and still have your 30 minutes not driving. Get one of those zep spray bottles from Home Depot to carry window wash because most of the time the truck stops’ wash bucket is just dirty water. Those zep bottles have such a great range and you can really clean up your windshield. Also in the winter, most of those truck stop buckets are frozen anyways. ALWAYS double check that your fuel and DEF caps are on. If you run reefer, give that fuel cap a once over too. Don’t spend too much time trying to get every drop you can into your tanks. When you start the pumps, lock them into the slowest flow so you lower the risk of them popping out. Also, get you some bungees to secure them while they’re pumping. After they stop, you can get about 10 gallons more per side. Anything beyond that is not worth the time. Good luck to you out there.
