A lovely piece of computer!
SpartanMonkey@reddit
That's not vintage! It was manufactured just a few years ago, in... 2005. Never mind. I'll see myself out.
ehode@reddit
I feel like I was just trying to convince and deploy one of these to someone at work.
SpartanMonkey@reddit
I think we still have some deployed at my job. Engineers don't like giving up their old stuff because it's already setup and working.

never chnage a running system, they say
omega552003@reddit
Yeah I'm with you...
HailYurii@reddit
Same here... I remember rolling these out to users.

Still using mine, amazing it's working fine on Windows 10.
Antique Dell

How is it when downloading small files? YouTube videos and what not? I just won one On eBay for 23$ and curious if its worth putting money into since its needs a new battery and screen... (i entered the bid as fun and won, didnt read that it needed a new screen and battery) lol
Perna1985@reddit
Does that use the PCMIA for network connection? I know the one I have does. I actually love it even though I can't do too much with it anymore

The Latitude E6500 series had built in gigabit Ethernet and were almost all (?) configured with an internal WiFi card (WWAN optional), but yes, you could also use a PC Card (or ExpressCard) device if you wanted to (for your Token Ring network maybe? ;) )... They're not that old! Core 2 Duo with PCIe expansion internally.

I might be necroposting but if you're still replying to comments, I use a Dell Latitude E6500 today as my main laptop.
Specs:
4 GB DDR2 SDRAM, CL13 latency (4 GB pagefile, 7.20 GB RAM total)
1280x800 CCFL backlit TN-TFT display
250 GB 7200 RPM HDD, TOSHIBA MK2561GSYN 3.5" drive
Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 @ 2.801 GHz, 45nm, Penryn (board based on the Centrino 2 Inside PM45 chipset, the high performance model of C2I chipsets [others are GM45 and GM47])
NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M discrete GPU, 256 MB VRAM and 32 CUDA cores
I bought mine for $63 refurbished in excellent condition, only issue is a minor crack in the panel housing but it doesn't affect general use at all.
If you're wondering what I'm running, I'm on Tiny10 23H2, I use it for general computing, work, gaming, and music production.
I'm slow it took me writing this entire thing to realize you aren't the OP lol
eh well I do use it as my main laptop
I'm actually typing from it right now.

This is a really sharp looking machine. I'm also a big fan of the 'e' series of Dell Latitudes. Coming at you now with an e6430.
What are your specs?
Yeah, this machine isn't what I would call vintage. But it certainly is a special machine. A computer like this one here might be appreciated more on a sub like this .
Working-Cable-1152@reddit (OP)
Sadly the computer is not mine - found it hidden in our warehouse in my job.
I just wanted to share it with somebody because I was really impressed with it!
I have also found some 3.5 inch floppies with Windows 3.1 NT on them. So cool!
WingedGeek@reddit
Pedantic, but, it's properly "Windows NT 3.1." Windows (in the 3.1 era) and Windows NT were very different beasts.
Privileged_Interface@reddit
Cool. Why don't you ask your boss or whoever for it?
Working-Cable-1152@reddit (OP)
I will definitely try :)
langerak1985@reddit
One of the best laptop keyboards I have ever typed on.
holysirsalad@reddit
Same chassis is the Precision M4400. Used one for work for many years, absolutely solid

The E-series are great machines. I used a heavily upgraded E6440 as my primary computer until about a year ago when I replaced it with a ThinkPad X1 Extreme.
