Did anyone have The Animal toy truck?

I wanted one of these *so badly* when I was a kid, but my parents were still harboring some delusions that I, a girl, would want to play with Barbie dolls and Betsy Wetsy and refused to get it for me. Was it as fun as it looked?

I had one of these and somehow my hair got caught in one of the wheels….no more batteries in it after that.

I received one for a Christmas gift one year. One of the wheels was broken. The claw had a bent spring. It was the last gift my mom gave me before she went fully blind. Picked it out herself. Then she died just before that Christmas. Yay, The Animal! The Rob Schneider comedy years later was tough, too. Thanks for the memories.

When I was in elementary school in the 80s, we used to bring our “trucks” to school and at recess we’d all have tournaments to see which was the best. You’d face yours towards the other kids’ and turn them on. If your truck got pushed back or on its back you lost. I got the yellow corvette style one of these and felt like such a bad ass bringing this thing in. Glory days!

Hell yeah, man. My parents got me the yellow one for Christmas when I was 3 or 4.

Could anything stop the animal?

Only when it flipped on its back like a turtle. Hahaha. I might still have it in my moms basement. Hmmmmm

I had a FastTracks and loved it. It was a little hard to control with how fast it was.

I did! I vaguely remember playing with it but honestly, it was kind of a piece of junk.

That and the [remote control hovercraft](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RY9cpkb0et8) were two toys I desperately wanted but never got my hands on.

Man I don't really remember that one but it looks so fun! No hate for people who enjoyed Barbies and other dolls, they were just never my thing, but my parents did keep trying. Eventually we compromised on My Little Pony, lol

This was one of my most favorite toys, loved it. I was so fascinated with the mechanical action of the claws coming out when it met resistance. You could also turn a knob on the hubs to just leave the claws out. This was a pretty solidly built toy.

I had something similar, the tire would compress and the outer circumference would spread out
