I think I have covid and feel like crap. My whole family has tested positive for the most part. I talked to my company and they said I have to tough it out and if I feel bad enough I’ll be able to shutdown. Keep in mind I’m on the road Monday through Friday and home weekends.

At that time Virginia had very strict covid rules. Anyone diagnosed was not even allowed to be in public. At one point I passed out leaning over the steering wheel from a severe coughing fit and another driver called medical services. Ambulance showed up just after I regained consciousness. They ended up taking me to Wytheville emergency room. That was a nightmare to get back to the truck 15 miles north. My dispatcher found me a hotel that would let me stay but they didn't know I had covid. The next morning I was told I had to leave because I looked sick. I got lucky and paid a cab driver to take me back to the truck. Lucky for me as he didn't believe in the covid hype. I sent another 3 days in the truck and your right, it was horrible. I remember wanting to die because of how horrible I felt. I literally wanted to die. Once home I was down for another 14 days because at that time it was thought that once your symptoms subsided you was still infectious for up to 2 weeks.
