What’s an era you weren’t part of but get really nostalgic about?

IDK on this. It's true that punk was so easily adopted and copied that it's got some similarities with "woke" kids. It's not hard to read a bit of theory and declare yourself woke, just like people did as punks. But the post-punk era, of people embracing DIY music making and performance art and reading esoteric literature and taking lots of drugs - that's really fragmented and individualistic in a way that's quite different to current "woke" thinking. At a very reductive level I'd say the current era is more about lots of people buying into the same ideas and organising around them, whereas the late 70s was about a mass fragmentation and a thriving experimental ecosystem. And arguably more interesting for it.
