Anyone know how my buddy did this with his hours?

So we deliver locally to heb in the San Antonio area. He says he didn’t edit his hours, didn’t turn off the tablet, and didn’t take a rest break. He started driving at midnight and at 0320 he had 10 hours and 7 minutes. How tf is this possible? When I asked him he just laughed and said it’s an old trick that I learned to do.
