Hot Hatch? The Civic is a full size sedan!
View on Reddit #95684

Carter0108@reddit

It isn't though is it? It is and always will be a hatch.

OrRPRed@reddit

Yes just like a Dacia Sandero Stepway is a SUV, not
View on Reddit #191854

Carter0108@reddit

No one is claiming that though. The Civic has certainly gotten bigger over the years but so have all hatchbacks.
View on Reddit #194034

VincentVanH0@reddit

No kidding. When i was shopping for my Veloster N, all the cross comparisons to the CTR as a hot hatch had me rolling my eyes.

I'll take the Honda. A lot less chavvy and a lot more reliable.

This is true! However, I value the euphoric sound of that 5 cylinder engine over 90% of cars out there today - and Audi makes a hell of a dual clutch. The manual isn’t a requirement for me to enjoy a car.
View on Reddit #94589

VincentVanH0@reddit

That 5 cylinder is actually my favorite sounding engine of all time.
View on Reddit #106567

Droopy1592@reddit

I have a history of buying cars for exhaust notes. RS3 is on my map. Just wish it was a manual.

It may be closer than you think. What a lot of people don’t realize is that the 10/11th gen Civic chassis is really, really fucking good. It’s underrated as hell. You can compare all the specs, but you can’t drive a spec sheet. The Civic is just a hoot to drive with a light body and a really high limit before anything feels remotely sketchy. You can drive it 10/10 all the time. I’ve seen a fair share of people move on from the Civic and end up regretting it.
View on Reddit #99815

It's crazy that Hondas and Audis are in same price bracket now

Say what now? Are these really in rs3 range?

Dude, I'm from Europe, Honda has always been overpriced here compared to US and Audi sells some surprisingly low end models that you also never see in US. Also Mugen doesn't exist here. It's only US phenomena that Honda is now expensive and Audi is "cheap". You also forget that Audi isn't as special brand here as in US. Used A8s sell for next to nothing. You can find a running and roadworthy ones for as cheap as 2500 EUR. Anyone can afford that, ironically Passat costs more than A8 often and if you want Accord of similar age, it's going to cost more than Passat or A8. Also brand new Audi A1 1.0l TFSI manual is literally cheaper than Honda Jazz Hybrid CVT by 1k EUR, they are both cheapest models of each brand.
View on Reddit #92338

SmokinGreenNugs@reddit

Who ever compares low end model pricing to the top performance trim? It’s not even a logical argument.
View on Reddit #93520

chadwicke619@reddit

It’s kind of funny how someone who lives in Europe is telling you how it is, and you’re like, “NOPE WRONG”.
View on Reddit #93696

SmokinGreenNugs@reddit

I’m not, I’m saying comparing a low end model with a limited performance car isn’t a valid comparison. Why would anyone compare pricing on an Audi A1 1.0 and a Civic Type R? That’s like comparing an A4 to a Lambo.
View on Reddit #93754

ADM765@reddit

They compared the A1 to the Jazz, not the CTR.
View on Reddit #93983

SmokinGreenNugs@reddit

Which has no bearing on Type R or Audi RS pricing.
View on Reddit #94067

The_red_spirit@reddit

And my point was that Audi isn't seen as premium brand as it seemingly is in US. It's completely mundane everyday brand. Meanwhile Honda is a tiny bit exotic brand, clearly not very popular brand and you always pay premium even for low end models.
View on Reddit #95737

mintz41@reddit

> It's completely mundane everyday brand. This just patently isn't true though, it's absolutely a premium brand. Being able to buy a hugely depreciated A8 doesn't change that.
View on Reddit #97900

The_red_spirit@reddit

I would agree with you, if I didn't see like 20-30% of my country faipy driving A4s or A6s. Even poor country folk drive something like Audi 80 or 100. To me Audi is boring and mundane brand for the most part. Very literally just a nicer VW, except few models, which are rare.
View on Reddit #98824

The_red_spirit@reddit

Dude, A1 is the lowest end model compared to Honda Jazz (Fit in US and JP), which is lowest end model here. A1 is a bit cheaper.
View on Reddit #95683

vargemp@reddit

Regular Civics and A3s costs similary, with A3 even being able to get little cheaper for base spec.

Civic R is a brand by itself Would def be rated higher than Audi rs3 along enthusiasts
View on Reddit #86847

I'd they're the same price you're a moron to buy the CTR. The RS3 is at an entirely different level.

Why is it so expensive in the UK? £46,995.00 is about $58k USD... In the US, the MSRP is $44k USD...
View on Reddit #92360

WendysChiliAndPepsi@reddit

Taxes. The price for all the “free” things the US “doesn’t have”.
View on Reddit #111575

SecretAntWorshiper@reddit

It should be a bit more expensive considering that the Type R in UK is the best spec out of the other regions. It has parking sensors and the rear seats are alcanatara. So it should be a bit higher. But 14k more is a bit much.

In what world are we seriously comparing an Audi to a Honda?
View on Reddit #92959

2001ThrowawayM@reddit

In a world where you have 2x daily driver cars that are both around £50k... People buy cars off of mainly needs, availability, and price.

eh17368@reddit

Unbelievable how Honda is now same price as an Audi
View on Reddit #92938

If only the RS3 and CTR were the same price in the states

Honda: We’ve heard you loud and clear and have raised the CTR’s starting MSRP to $61k.
View on Reddit #85127

tazercow@reddit

Tack on a $10k markup on top of that and you're about at the level of a RS3 in my area
View on Reddit #85328

With markups they basically are.
