What do you sign off on your emails? What is the etiquette?

I have been told that not signing off with something comes across badly. My email format goes
"Hi X,
bla bla bla bla bla.
Blablabla
OrganiszionFickle"
Maybe with a signature block if it's a new email. Obviously if it's someone important I'll send my best wishes, but I've never understood sign offs. Best wishes? What am I wishing for you? Kind regards? Why are my regards out of kindness? At best they are lukewarm or tolerant.
I've told a couple of friends and they said they could never not sign off. I mean some people just put their initial letter as a sign off. If I am genuinely pissed off, you'll get warm wishes and best regards and I will tell you to have a nice day.
