Would you be annoyed if your neighbour parked their caravan on your side of the street on the grass verge?

Hi all, this wouldn't normally bother me if it was a car and quite frankly I don't mind people parking in front of my house, as I know how frustrating parking can be after a long day, you just want to park up and go inside. However, neighbour over the road has a grass verge outside of their house and have decided to park this massive caravan right outside my house on the grass verge and it's an eye sore. I think it's disrespectful to dump it outside of my house, so I was just wondering if it would bother anyone else? I live on a corner plot with an open plan garden (no boundary fence/ wall).

It might as well be, it goes, my garden > narrow public footpath > grass verge.

Check with the council to see if it is legal to park on the verge. Also, check the size of the caravan. I'm pretty sure that over a certain size, if not attached to a car, they need to be lit at night. They also need the lights pointing towards oncoming traffic. Find every regulation you can - plenty of online resources for caravanners to determine what they can do. You can use that the other way. And yea, it would bother me, even though it probably shouldn't.

Eyesore = irrelevant, outside your house = irrelevant. Parked on a GRASS verge? Fuck them, not OK. Sick to death of drivers turning these into mud; it's effectively pavement, you don't drive on it, you don't park on it, it's not for vehicles it's for everyone else. Find your local councils parking reporting form and nark on 'em.

Eyesore is subjective, it's just the way it's parked on the grass verge that makes it an eyesore, if it was a layby or tarmac I wouldn't care. I have been harping on to the council for ages about planting some trees on the grass verges but as yet, fallen on deaf ears.

Exactly this, seems like the caravan shouldn’t be parked there but the guy is annoyed for the wrong entire reasons. So many weird complaints on this sub

My local council doesn’t allow you to leave caravans for over 14 days on the public highway, so you should look into it. I’d also guess it being on the grass isn’t allowed either.

Check with your local council. I know ours has all sorts of by-laws prohibiting parking caravans on the roadside etc.

Check with your council as sometimes it's illegal to park on grass verges. You might be able to get them with a parking violation and they'll have to move it to a designated parking area

A few years back we had a neighbour buy a fucking enormous tour bus sized camper van which they parked along the fence line of our garden completely blocking the view from our garden. Also as the garden is South facing this thing cast a great big shadow across our garden for most of the day. And hell yes it bothered me.
