What should I do?

Hi everyone, my issue is that I have severe stress and insomnia symptoms due to my job. In the beginning of September I had to go to the hospital for ECG and blood test because I experienced heart attack symptons (28 M). I took a week off from work because insomnia kicked in, today is my 6th day of self certification. I filled up an online form on my GP’s website and they gave me an appointment by next week. I tried to speak with a GP earlier as unfortunately my symptoms are still in place to get an other week off from work with a sick note. The receptionist however shut down the phone on me before I could say what my problem was. Note: I live in England for 8 years, I’ve never been on sick longer than 2 days. What should I do now? Thank you

Stop panicking. Keep trying to get an appointment. If you're really struggling, again speak to the receptionist and explain about your issue with getting a doctor's note. They may just text you one to cover you until you can see a doctor. However, If you do get to see one, explain what's going on, that you've celf certed for the week but you need more time off. They'll issue a new note and you can ask them to backdate it to fill in and gaps caused by not being able to get an appointment.

I had the results on the same day, I explained the situation to an actual doctor. She told me it’s due to stress because ECG and blood test were fine. Since then the symptons didn’t come back as strong as it was on that day, but now I have to deal with insomnia which I believe is caused by stress. My issue is that I can’t talk to an actual doctor.
