This is one of my favorite jokes in the Venture Bros. One of the characters dies and one of the requests for their funeral is to play The Crash Test Dummies "At My Funeral". Unfortunately it gets confused as play the Crash Test Dummies at my funeral. This song starts to play and everyone starts singing along

They were always on a unique developmental arc. If anything, it was an exceptional fluke of the early/mid 90's zeitgeist they ever got known outside of Winnipeg (or was it Edmonton?)
I don’t know but I liked the album before their main hit one. Forgot what it was called but it was a folksy pop rock album of sorts. Then the big hit. Then super weird and couldn’t get into anything else
For some reason, this was a regular on my main internet cafes playlist. They played a mix of the gentler side to 90s alternative and the chilled side of contemporary (for 2000/2001) dance pop. Weird mix, but pushing midnight at a computer, oddly relaxing.
And then there was this guy who made his wife so mad one day that she cut off his wiener. And when he finally came to, he saw that Mr Happy was missing. He couldn't quite explain it, it had always just been there.
Headline News is one of those rare Weird Al tracks that is so dark, that it actually made you second guess yourself into believing that all those fake “dirty” Weird Al tracks that were on Napster and Kazaa could have been legit.
My wife haaaaaaaates this song.
So naturally when we go on road trips I slip it into mixes, and see how long it takes her to notice. We haven’t gotten past the first say, 5 piano notes, in years.
