What is a song that, when you hear it, you think of Britain or the UK?

Yeah Mr Brightside is quite sad for me now. Really sums up that "Inbetweeners" generation who were fed the lie that if you work hard and go to university ("just get a degree, any degree, doesn't matter what subject, even if you've no interest in it!") you'll get a good job, and can afford a house, kids will be happy etc. Then the great recession hit and a lot of these people realised a degree doesn't mean shit and ended up working in a pub or something just to make ends meet, still living at home. They were also taught to be fairly non-combative and not to question stuff too much, so while by no means unique to their generation at all, tended to get stuck in a fairly loveless relationship from a fairly young age - lots of older middle age couples in such a situation but it suddenly became quite common even for people in their 20s. Mental health became much more acceptable to talk about, which is very very good (I am personally a big advocate of this), but unfortauntely GPs were and are still too ready to simply bang people on pills which while they *can* be helpful do tend to evolve from a helpful crutch into a false limb and people end up zoned out just drifting through life. Before you know it you're in your 30s, a wife/husband/partner you don't really love, a job you hate but can't escape from, a copy-paste badly built new-build which is the only thing anyone would give you a mortgage for (and even that is a struggle), a car on finance you also struggle to afford. The trauma of your post university years meant alcohol and/or drugs evolved from a "partying" lubricant to simply a "coping with life" lubricant and overdid it a bit, so now even that has been closed down. You struggle to embrace "sober life" and do stuff like walking, or climbing, or whatever, but it never quite goes away and can blindside you out of no-where. Sure, waking up not feeling like shit sometime on a Tuesday afternoon after being solidly on the booze and coke since Friday afternoon is WAY more healthy and not something anyone should ever miss, but there's such a thing as going too far the other way, and waking up on Sunday morning and realising you've got another four or five decades of *this* to stare down is almost worse. Then before you know it, that will flash by too. And that's it, your whole life is done. And maybe in some old folks home somewhere (if you're lucky) you'll hear a flash of the song on some "oldies" music station and remember when life looked like it might be fun. When you were Mr Brightside.
