Anyone found a decent non-alcoholic wine yet?

Love wine just as a chill drink, more for the feeling than the booze. I’m not looking for anything groundbreaking, but like I managed to swap out beer for no. Alcoholics, I’ve only tried a bottle or two of non alcoholic and they don’t even taste like wine. So many YouTubers suggest this new one that ‘got it right’ but I’m dubious as they’re always paid. Have you found anything close?

Wine merchant here, most of them truly suck! We did recently come across one called French Bloom. It’s a champagne style no alcohol wine, and it’s actually very enjoyable.

Fully agree, discovered French Bloom on a recent trip in NYC and it is by far the best I've tried so far. And it's in a ton of starred restaurants, their extra Brut.

Check out the selection in Sainsbury's they have some okay options. Sadly wine doesn't really work alcohol free, I used to drink a lot of wine (hence why I don't anymore) and no matter what one I try it never tastes quite right.

As I understand it the process is fundamentally different to how alcohol free beer gets made, which is why the latter has come on leaps and bounds (though IMO Becks blue, the OG is still one of the best) and we're still stuck without good AF wine despite the obvious massive demand for it.

Try sparkling tea as a sparkling wine replacement. I can’t abide non alcoholic Proseccos but this is now my drink of choice for a sunny day in the garden. Waitrose stock REAL - Royal flush and dry dragon. Both are nice and both are different. About £7 a bottle tho, but still way cheaper than a real sparkling wine. Be warned though… it contains caffeine, as I discovered after spending a happy afternoon getting through a bottle and wondered why I was wired all evening :-)

I like the mcGuigan Shiraz (tastes better when chilled) and the Sauvignon blanc. Heineken 0.0 is good as is Bud zero. If you like gin, tanqueray 0.0 is damn good.

I work for a wine company and unfortunately good non-alcoholic wine is just really hard to do! Low alcohol wine might be worth trying? Those are >0.5% alcohol rather than >0.05% (which is what non-alcoholic wine has). Caveat that I haven't tried low alcohol wine so can't speak to the difference in taste, and my workplace doesn't make either type so this isn't a plug!

Honestly I think you’re better off putting white wine vinegar in sparkling water than pay >£4 for the ones I’ve tried. But McGuigan Zero Sauvignon Blanc is the best of a bad bunch imo.

I like Nozeco (sparkling non-alcoholic prosecco) but I have never found any good still non-alcoholic wine.

NoSecco is rather palatable and not too sweet compared to most of the low alcohol wines

I still find it has that taste that most non alcoholic wines have. Whether it’s too sweet (whites typically) or a strong after taste (reds). I’ve heard the Freixenet non alcoholic Prosecco gets this right but haven’t personally tried it.
