I really like it. Don't buy much of it, but the combo of "documentary" with reenactments is cool and sets an eerie mood.

Don't watch the sequel. Just don't it's like someone stomped a bucket filled with crap and the water hose wouldn't wash it off

I walk without a shirt on once and a damn movie is made. I grew up in the bayous of Arkansas. I was so ugly that they tied a pork chop around my neck to get the dog to play with me and the damn dog turned vegan. Alligators were friendly though

It's a fun bad B-movie. I appreciate it for what it is and am glad it exists.

I grew up in a rural part of Central Texas and believe me; the vintage feel and those stock roaring sounds of the Fouke Monster; coupled with the menacing silhouette it casts to mask the budgetary shortcomings left an indelible mark on me as a kid. Of course my stepdad would have me check the dog’s water buckets in the dead of night and I was always certain I’d be attacked checking their water so I was keen to listen to them if they started acting funny or started barking. I’ve been to Fouke three times in my life and I always enjoy visiting the Monster Mart there that serves as a gas station/tourist trap to show off their Boggy Creek pride. I’d definitely recommend swinging by if you ever are cutting through Arkansas through Texarkana.

I dont get the part where there is this old hermit living in the swamp whom the boy, Travis goes to see. Well the old man says he has never seen no monster. That tells me it isnt real.

Travis also says that that old man never would have wanted tons of people tearing up his neck of the woods. Hermits don't like people ie, that's why they are hermits.

Wouldnt Travis have seen this monster since he travels into the swamp so often?

Plot twist, Travis is a lycanthrope.

I have find memories of it because I'd have regular horror movie nights with a good friend of mine who's no longer around, this being one of his favorites. He was a big fan of Lyle Blackburn's books and documentary work on the subject as well. As far as the film itself it was a good entry in 70s era horror before slashers took over, and being based on cryptid encounters and tales made me like it even more.

Fun movie, also been to the town, which isn't much- but there's a fun little monster Mart to stop at for snacks/gas

It traumatized me when I was seven, and, after watching it as an adult, I can see why. It's surprisingly effective for a "B" movie, and makes very good use of its low budget. Sure, some parts are cheesy (especially a couple of soundtrack moments, lol), but there's a sense of sincerity to it.

My father in law saw one. As to Boggy Creek that movie scares the crap out of me! Made my kids watch.it in the dark lol.

Boggy Creek was really good...the sequel in 1985 is MST3K fodder as you know.
