Removed the last post earlier due to my Snapchat username. If you’re ever in the area on a weekday I highly recommend.

Looks like a couple of C models because they were doing AOA approaches

They didn’t have the big ol wings, but those were definitely navy landings heh

I believe the C variant is the only one with a dual tire on the nose gear to help with heavier landings on carriers. Doesn’t look like this has the dual tire. So it’s either an A or B. Can’t tell from this video though.

Why any one in the DOD would sign off on a single engine fighter is beyond me. Redundancy is key in combat platforms.

I mean there’s pros and cons to both single or dual seats right. Two people means twice the training, means twice the expense. Also means twice the loss if they go down. Training pilots is expensive as it is in the civilian world. Training someone to fly the f35 is a whole other world. I’m sure most of them aren’t coming in just learning the f35 either. So tons of experience and training has already gone into them. But yes single pilot ops is not as safe as dual pilot ops. The only way to help take some load off is upgrading management systems and anything that can reduce work load during critical areas of flight. But not too much that you have overuse and over trust on the system itself that makes you complacent. We see that with airline pilots from time to time. Thankfully the f35 is one of the most advance fighters in the world with state of the art systems inside it. Shit didn’t an f35 pilot just eject the other week and the plane continued on autopilot?

Golfing the Falcon right next to the base is always fun. Nothing like trying to read a putt with a few F-35's lighting their AB's

I didn’t know it existed til I took my kids to a zoo nearby. Zoo with a free airshow sound blasting all the animals 😅 it was a good time.

Man it is my dream to see an F35 in person, they look so awesome. Don’t get too many up here in Canada

Soon the first Belgian F-35’s will be delivered at Luke AFB for training our pilotes. Shitty government took ages to order them so we’re late to the party… Sad part is that the opposite was true for the F-16 program. First non-US F-16 touched down in Belgium in 1979 and we were the first Air Force to have a fully operational F-16 squadron. How times change…

These planes are so cool and I live near an f15 training base but every time they're coming down to land with gear down like this I can't help but think of how similar they look to a hedgehog standing up real tall. Peets

Approach end of 21L and 21R have a nice side road you can pull off to watch. I’m at that location here in the video. 03L and 03R does have a gravel road but it’s much further off. Also, I’ve read that sometimes people get yelled at on that end. However, when I parked a father and son had set up a pop-up canopy and seemed to have been sitting for awhile. 🤷‍♂️
