I did this when I drove from Oregon to SoCal for the first time. Pulled up at a gas station in the middle of nowhere northern Cali, and sat at the pump for fifteen minutes waiting. I could see the attendant inside, and he must have been watching a funny movie because he was laughing so hard....

I live in PA, and see people from NJ trying to pump their gas ALL THE TIME. Most of the time it just ends with them looking completely confused, but more than a few times it ends it ends with them spilling gas all over the ground, their car, and themselves and then getting angry and yelling at the poor workers inside like it was their fault.

Can confirm. Born and raised in Oregon. My mom was legitimately afraid to pump her own gas. She'd root around and find someone who would take mercy on her and help her if we were out of state. It's... it's not rocket science...

There was some town in central PA that had a huge hill running through. There were signs forbidding Jakes. I was driving a T680, and those things are pretty much inaudible. So I ran them through town. One day I stopped at a light, and a driver next to me rolled the window down to yell at me. He thought the routine squeaking of my service brakes was the Jakes.

That’s actually not that weird. I grew up near a large Mennonite community and they couldn’t use rubber tires. So they used steel wheels with aggressive lugs on them. They’d tear up the roads so they were prohibited
