Do you use the anatomically correct words to refer to your young children's genitals?

I should probably start by saying I'm not some sort of sex case. This question often comes up on r/daddit and the people there basically consider you to be throwing your kids into the arms of sexual predators if you use any word that isn't the scientific biological term for them. Is this just classic American paranoia or is there some sensible justification for it? I've got a two-year-old son and I can't imagine saying words like scrotum or glans until he's around puberty age.
