Cruisin? In high school, no. Very small town pop 30k or so, no cruise scene. You shoot the loop or We nerds did something we called ditch'em. Haul ass around town, full throttle at midnight trying to find and block someone in a spot they were unable to escape from, if you did, they were now on your team. Drove what we had. 73 Vega, 68 triumph spitfire, a 240Z, 72 Camero, 63 C10 longbed, 75 Chevy 4dr wagon, 69 Camero, ford Capri. Somehow we all survived, no one died, couple of close calls with a telephone pole or other stationary object. Sure a few lawns were destroyed, golf course ruined a little, maybe a fire hydrant broken off here or there. Good times

Shot bottle rockets out of car windows. It's all fun and games so long as they explode high up in the sky but when one giggling asshole in the backseat misses an open fucking window, you end up with the damn thing going off inside the car. Yes, it sucked. Yes, we smelled like gunpowder. Yes, we couldn't hear for a while. Yes, it was so goddamn funny we fell out of the car onto the road laughing. Yes, we were morons. Thank you very much.

Ha, yeah. We had the strip and the parkway in my hometown. Hanging out windows, blasting Whitesnake and growing up way the hell too fast. It was a blast. Never did anything too stupid with that kind of crusing, but we would also just go drive around town hoping some guy we were crushing on would be walking down the street.

A bunch of us jumped into a buddy's car one night after a party in the woods and we were all hammeredl including the driver. The road out had a sharp right bend and Dave, the driver that night, went straight and we sheared off a tree. Fortunately the tree gave way. HIs car was fucked. We all ran. One night we were driving and drinking and we pulled off the side of some rural road and the car's two passenger wheels went off the edge of a long steep embankment and we had to all lean into and get out of the driver's side doors to keep the car from plunging. Good times!

I didn't know cruising was outlawed, I mean how could anyone know unless you were loitering. So yea, that probably was cracked down on at some point we were still going strong in 1993. Stupidest thing I ever did was sit on the open front car window, grab the handle thingy, and lean way back while my friend was accelerating. All to show off for some boys. I mean, why? Was that supposed to be cute? IDK, we were so not very smart. But we had fun, lol.

Just to spend all night driving around the entirety of west Houston (Sugarland-Rosenberg/Katy/Spring) back in the day. Heck even my mom and I would drive around all night. Mom liked Primus, which I found out because I would play the Frizzel Fry tape all the time. Every once in a while we would all swear lights were following us on those two lane back roads. Lol

One of my friends brought her little cousin with us. He was in one car and she was in our car. We were on the freeway and the cars matched speed and passed the cousin from one car to the other via the rear passenger windows. We were absolutely giddy when we succeeded. But that was the dumbest thing I remember ever doing in a car.

Cruised every weekend. That’s how you’d find the great parties. Stupidest thing we did was borrow a friend’s car. We had to piss but instead of stopping at one of the many gas stations on the strip we drove behind a building and right into a rectangular hole about four feet deep. Didn’t know they were doing underground work begging this building. Car went nose first and the back wheels were about two feet in the air. Police came and asked what was going on. When we told them they all laughed. We had to get a tow truck to pull us out no visible damage to the car though so that was good. We kept that story between us and never told our friend.

Usually smoking weed, maybe causing trouble. The stupidest is we played mailbox baseball and got arrested. I was fifteen. The funniest thing now is everyone was making fun of Trump’s mugshot, and I’d realize I was probably the only one in that conversation who’d actually had a mugshot taken.

One night me and 8 other girls drunkenly got in the back of a guys truck and he took us 4 wheeling and over some old train track barrier on the sudden drop I bit the fuck out of my tongue and it bled and bled.

Smokin weed and cigarettes cruisin to the bowling alley where all the kids parked. Eventually a fight would break out but the police were always close by to flash their lights and everything would calm down. Looking back now they were basically babysitters for teenage drug abusing dumbfucks. Bet they hated working Saturday night.

Cruising was my life for a few years. I LOVED it. They banned it here in the early 90’s. Like, they got rid of left turns from one street to another just so we couldn’t make “the loop” lol. Stupidest thing we ever did was run from the cops. In our defense, we didn’t know it was the cops. It was an unmarked car and we had started a fight earlier in the night. The people we got in a fight with were at the spot we just arrived at, but now they had a lot of friends. We took off and a car followed. The people that we thought were following us were not following us, it was an unmarked police car. I flew down the road, ran a red, before my buddy noticed it was a cop. Well shit. Cops followed us because my car kind of sort of matched the description of a car that was doing donuts just seconds before they (cops) and I got there. I was running because I thought the people we fought earlier went and got back up. It was all a big misunderstanding, but I still got a pretty gnarly ticket for it all. Not for the donuts, but for speeding and running a red.

Cruising up and down the main street of our town was a big part of the town’s identity and history, so there were always a bunch of people out there cruising on Friday and Saturday nights. Only, me and my friends didn’t limit it to weekend evenings. Monday afternoon? Let’s go cruising. Late Thursday morning? Fuck yeah. Cruising. We kept a bong in the cupholder to maintain our high and incredibly, never got pulled over with it. We’d stick our heads out the window and yell at random people walking the street. We didn’t shout anything intelligible at them, just screamed stupid sounds that made us laugh, trying to get them to look at us funny. I think we spent the entire summer of ‘92 driving around town, doing bong rips, and trying to weird out strangers while giggling and listening to the radio. It was a good time. We still laugh about it.

When The Wallflowers played at a ski area--I guess they did concerts in summer?--in the middle of nowhere not too far from where I lived, we didn't buy tickets like normal people. Instead we drove in circles around the venue, trying to find a place where we could hear and see the show without paying. My friend periodically stuck her head out the car window and yelled things like, "We're coming, Jakob!"

My best friend and I joyriding underage (again) at “the river” in her moms car. Got some cute guys to buy us beer at circle k. Got high with them and followed them to a casino ferry with the intent to play slots. The ferry operator had to turn back bc my friend was freaking out, screaming that it was going too fast. Total Coors Banquet memory. We’re lucky we weren’t abducted.

Me and my metalhead friends driving all over town, blasting Slayer or whatever. Found a small church in a regular house in a suburban neighborhood having some kind of prayer meeting or whatever. Creep into the parking lot, sans lights so we can peel out, honking and yelling "Hail Satan" or some such nonsense. They looked surprised for the split second I saw them, but in retrospect to them it was probably just "screech! Honk honk! Hurdur hurder hur!!" etc. Goofy fuckin kids...
