Is Changan a reliable brand?

Hello guys,
I am thinking at buying a Changan M.201 from 2019 with around 105.000km.
As I don’t know the brand at all except that it is Chinese, I am looking for information about its reliability, cost/quality ratio, weaknesses and strengths.
Thank you for your answer.

No, do not get a Chinese car.
Even a Ford is more reliable than a Chinese car.

Really awful vehicle - drove a Hunter Changan with less than 9000km. Pickup already had rust on it, back lift gate was extremely difficult to open due to malfunctioning. Shocks / struts felt like they weren't present. Audio was some of the worst of the worst. Turning radius bad for a pickup. Chinese trying to mimic other auto mfgs with throw away garbage. Typical.

Thank you everyone for your answers.

Your location seriously matters here. Some counties might charge an arm and a leg for some simple parts while other places might have established mechanics. I live 5 hours from the closest BMW or MCB dealer so that alone means I'll never even consider buying one new.

Oh yeah! Forgot to tell that I am in Chile and plan to do a road trip with it.

Motor wise should be ok, lots of cricket noises may come with it, but you should be ok... resell price is going to be bad, but that's not the point of the question...

Thank you for the info!
And you're right, resell price is a part of the equation at some point.

All depends on location & supply for said brand really. I have a friend that poured a whole lot on getting a top end alfa romeo, but in our country the support for that brand Is reeeeally lacking, ended up with a car thats almost never reliable enough for a full trip 🤷♀️

Does it pass Chile’s safety standards? What does Latin NCAP say about it?
If it does break, are there enough dealers or repair shops that can get parts for it? Are they convenient for you to take it there for repairs?
