Why do people subscribe to Hello Fresh, try and convert you to their amazing revelation, and then give up on their cult after a few weeks?

Every now and then, someone I know will start using Hello Fresh or a similar service. They will describe how amazing it is. How they receive all the ingredients and instructions they need, how it saves time going shopping and how economical it is. I always nod along to the sanctimony and say wow sounds great. Then a month or two later, they’ve stopped using Hello Fresh just like everyone else. No one actually wants to follow a full blown recipe every day of the week. Eventually, ease and convenience is going to win. Humans are habitual creatures and most people cook the same regular and quick meals they’re used to. Someone I know has joined the Hello Fresh cult. I give them a month before they realise that cooking an hour long meal + washing up after work every day is not worth it Especially when they realise they still have to go to the shop and buy general household products anyway.
