Hidey ho (former) neighbour-o. I also had PGTV and BCTV, plus also the Kamloops CBC channel. The only thing different between the two CBC channels was the local news broadcasts.

I saw Mr. Dressup speak at The Ridout near Western U. London, Ont. in ‘99 or early ‘00. I grew up with a different tv character but the nostalgia in the audience was palpable.

My brother is a recording engineer / producer who, like all of us, grew up with Mr. Dressup. Well, Ernie Combs (Mr. Dressup) was in the studio and my brother, when he had to stop him to do another take or something on the talkback mic kept calling him 'Mr. Dressup'. Combs said 'you really can call me Ernie' and my brother said 'you know, I don't think I can actually...'

I got to work with him years ago too. It was really hard to call him Ernie and talk to him like I would any one of my peers. Hearing him drop an f-bomb was one of the weirdest things I'd ever heard.

Just saw a trailer for this on youtube. It will be on Prime on October 10. When I started kindergarten I asked my mom to watch "Mr. Dressup" and then tell me what I had missed! But I don't remember her doing that!
