Thoughts on The Debt Collective?

I'm thinking about joining the Debt Collective Union (https://debtcollective.org/debt-union/) but I thought I would see if anybody here has any thoughts. It seems like coordinated mass action to not pay student loans could be a powerful political statement, especially if a lot of people are onboard. It does have a monthly fee to join the union, which seems like it might turn off a few people and make it less effective as a mass, collective action (though maybe this is just an unavoidable part of forming a union of any kind.) Also, I wanted to double check to make sure it's not a scam. Any thoughts?

I STRONGLY SUGGEST before you #1 open your beak, check out who they are and #2 Understand who the extreme left are and what they represent. And more importantly how and for what reason this country of the USA was so opposed to them.
3. While we're checking out on them check out on Black lives Matter founders too. Do NOT taken anybody's word. Look them up! ( Angela Davis -communist) They are the same in goals.
YOUNG PEOPLE, DON'T JUST SIGN UP FOR ANY AND EVERYTHING! DO YOUR OWN THINKING FIRST! INVESTIGATE WHO IS ASKING FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND WHAT THEY REPRESENT!
4.Once you find out, run like hell is on your tail because it will be if enough empty heads support these kinds of ventures without caring or now some being purposely driven to numbness overload where there is no longer connection with sane reality.

The thing that bothers me is that no one questions why they need your birthrate? All the other info I get, name, address, email, phone number... but add your birthday info and that just spells a recipe for disaster for stolen identity. Especially in this modern era of information technology and the overabundance of scams. Food for thought. 🍎

Probably because they don't want minors

Been following them for years. They helped me file my defense to repayment. Also helped me with understanding statue of limitations and such in my state.
By help me I mean: - site and group provide useful resources to read through - group used to be great for asking questions and such and getting answers direct from others in similar boats (don’t know how good that aspect is now, I haven’t been active in a couple years. But their site appears to be more legit now)
Hope that helps.

Did your defense to repayment app ever get processed?
syddevious@reddit
Yes it did. I was part of the primary class group of the sweets b cardona case. My school was one of I think 100 or so schools on a list that a judge approved full forgiveness for anyone that had filed a defense to repayment before 2021 I beleive is the date.
