You used to be able to lease a Golf R for under £300/month a few years ago, with 10k mileage. I forget the down payment, but it wasn't much. My mate had one before shopping it in for a brand new V90 which was something ridiculous like £280/month no down payment. He even got to keep it longer for free during covid as Santander didn't want it back. Those days have changed, but I guess there are still attractive lease options about.

Since buying an Audi I’ve actually started driving more respectfully (not that I was a particularly bad driver before). Partly because it’s a nice (to me) car and I don’t want to damage it and also to try and single handedly improve the image of higher end car drivers.

I don't think this is the case, I used to drive a lot riskier when I drove a normal car. I'll flash my lights if someones blocking the way but I'm not going to get right up their arse and risk writing my car off as it cost me a lot of money. I'd say that people are more likely to park like dicks when they drive a nice car to avoid it getting bumped though. Usually I'll just park far away from people if it's a big car park but if I've been in a rush I've used parent and child bays a few times. Haven't used a disabled bay, think that's a bit far but I've seen some people do that and it's usually a nice car.

There's actually psychological evidence to support the fact that wealthier people, including those with flashier cars, are more selfish. They do this with parking too. Many times I've seen some cunt in a fancy sports car use a disabled space (with no badge on display) to give their *precious* less chance of being hit.
