If I go ARP on the caps….
So I need to align hone if I go arp on the mains?

If you ever build motors, you measure, lube, measure, measure again, BEFORE you close it up. Anything you are not sure about, get sure about or you’ll make a mistake. Engine building shouldn’t be scary, it should be precise.

Typically studs is "yes", bolts is "maybe". The only way to know for sure is to use a bore gauge and measure the difference in out-of-round between stock fasteners and the ARP fasteners.

Yes in case you switch to studs, but if you use ARP bolts and torque to spec I dont see how that would change anything.

Yes. From my understanding, the higher holding force distorts bore shape enough that it should be line honed again.
