summer of 1998 - update!

A couple months ago, I [asked you all for your help](https://www.reddit.com/r/Xennials/comments/158n2qd/summer_of_1998/) in crowdsourcing memories and more from the summer of 1998 for an upcoming episode of my 90s alternative Spotify show and [FINALLY, IT'S HERE!](https://open.spotify.com/episode/5SgfBhtN11Wid2rPUEAhFR?si=5edffdde83394793) Thank you all so so so much for your help! It was indispensable I tried to use as many of your suggestions as possible - it was a very busy summer filled with killer asteroids, a giant lizard, Christina Ricci, a home run chase, disappointing ends to beloved TV shows, tragedies, an unfortunate zipper incident, unforgettable moments in professional wrestling, and a president admitting to a beej. What a time to have been alive. So whether you had just finished high school (like me) or were in the thick of it, I hope you enjoy the nostalgia, and the music - Beastie Boys, Korn, Harvey Danger, Reel Big Fish, Alanis Morissette, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Hole and much more!

Wow. I was 28 that year. I took a job as a manager at a full service restaurant (bar and such) at a mall that year, and that fall/spring summer 99 were an absolute blast.

I was 19 that summer and the small grocery store I worked at inexplicably made me an assistant manager. I don't know what they were thinking. But I distinctly remember hooking my CD player up to the PA in the store and playing these albums instead of the Muzak they normally played. Hope you like the episode!

The restaurant actually stayed open later than the mall, the food stopped at ten (mall closed at 9 back then). Bar was open till 12. At nine, Id switch the restaurant muzac system to an alt rock channel . That job was such a blast. I lived close enough to walk to and from that job, and many a night I "swayed" home with some great music playing in my head.......
