One Reason for Rising Food Prices? Chinese Hoarding. | Keen to avoid shortages and reduce dependence on imports, the government is stockpiling goods on a massive scale.

The West trying to blame China for… ensuring their people are fed? Just because the US sold off their reserves for cash and capitalism doesn’t give a shit doesn’t mean China can just cop the blame so you can try and satisfy millions who are getting increasingly pissed off. China sees the writing on the wall and they won’t leave their people to die. Capitalism wants to paint its callous ignorance as an unwillingness to hoard.

Funny how those evil capitalist countries never have famines. China had their last famine in the 1960's. Russia, the 1930's. Russia had a massive grain shortage until communism ended. Under the tyranny of capitalism, both Russia and Ukraine are food exporters. Capitalism has its problems, but it is the communist countries that want to expand their borders over neighboring countries. No one is trying to antagonize China. They simply want to be left alone, but China wants very much to expand, over the democratic peoples of Taiwan, India, Vietnam, Philippines, ..., with their last invasion in 1979 (Vietnam), and before that, Russia (late 1960's) and before that India (early 1960's). If you want to know what China does when they occupy another country, ask a Tibetan or Uyghur. In both of those lands they banned the local language, destroyed local culture and institutions then migrated millions of Chinese to literally transform lands into China. Understandably, Taiwanese, Vietnamese and Indians do not want this disaster to befall their countries. I am game to criticize the cocaine-crazed tech bros who dominate the US economy, but throwing our allies like the Taiwanese under the bus is not cool. China is stockpiling food because they are preparing for war. Their current leader thinks he is Mao, and he is changing China to become more of an Empire. I am all for the US bringing our troops home. I could care less if free trade collapsed, but the one key thing we need are the silicon chip factories in Taiwan that make all of our CPUs and GPU's, so we need them, and they happen to be a vibrant democratic ally (I used to live there). China is an Imperialist country that is far more of a threat than their ally Russia (a gas station with nukes). For better or worse, we may need to fight them to defend Taiwan. We do not need idiot anti-war protesters like the racist idiots who opposed the Vietnam war (where communists committed genocide immediately upon victory). Of course, after 1991 when the USSR archives were opened, we learned that the anti-war movement in the 1960's was founded and paid for by Soviet intelligence. Baby boomers may have been racist pricks unwilling to fight for Asian lives, but I hope we will do better.

The decision to stockpile grain, as well as that announcement for citizens to maintain supplies at home in China was something that gave me a bit of pause initially. November 2021: https://www.reuters.com/business/cop/chinese-stock-up-food-temperatures-fall-covid-19-spreads-2021-11-03/ January 2022: https://www.leadertelegram.com/country-today/markets/market-columns/china-to-stockpile-grains/article_1df50b7f-0b3e-5f31-8df7-9ace1b3661d8.html#:~:text=Chinese%20officials%20have%20announced%20plans,50%25%20of%20the%20world%20supply. And then suddenly, there was the joint statement made by China and Russia together, that they were coming together "closer than an alliance" with the goal of creating a "New Era" in the world and a system dominated by the East, with an end to western hegemony. February 4th 2022: https://www.airuniversity.af.edu/CASI/Display/Article/2923495/itow-china-russia-joint-statement-on-international-relations-entering-a-new-era/ https://responsiblestatecraft.org/2022/02/12/breaking-down-that-putin-xi-joint-statement-on-a-new-era/ And, while I was still puzzling over what that all meant, just three short weeks after announcing a challenge to the west for dominance of the world, one of these two kicked off the biggest war in Europe since WW2 February 24th 2022: https://www.cnbc.com/2022/02/24/russian-forces-invade-ukraine.html Now, I know there is a lot of pushback over the idea, mostly because we want to hate Putin, and that's understandable. He's an asshole, after all. But, does it really make sense to deny China's part of the team? They literally announced, together, that they were entering into a partnership "closer than alliance", and one in which, as Xi said, "Friendship between the two States has no limits. There are no 'forbidden' areas of cooperation." No forbidden areas of cooperation. And then Putin invaded Ukraine. And we are mad at him, and we hate him, and so we laugh at how stupid he looks with his apparent bumbling about tactically, and it is all one big joke about how "he really screwed up this time, lol." And we go back and forth, over and over about taking Ukraine, holding Ukraine, what Putin wants from Ukraine...and the whole time, our hatred of him blinds us to what is really happening, because if you only look at Ukraine the invasion doesn't even make sense. And it doesn't make sense because *it is not the real goal.* Putin may be attacking Ukraine, but he is destroying the world. And it is in complete cooperation with his new "partner." The world is focused on watching the puppet dancing about like a moron, and we laugh at him! We are indeed entertained! But we fail to see the hand that supports the puppet, directs the puppet...and because of that, we are completely missing the point of the show. This is not about Russia taking over Ukraine. This is about a rising power attempting to destabilize the entire current global power structure and order. And it is a war that will play out in the hungry bellies and empty wallets of billions of people, until the entire system comes crashing down, and the very silent and patient China can swoop in and take over. Russia is the "tank" in this team, it is there to stand in front and tank the incoming damage, to shield the rest. China is the "healer" element, outside of the fight, but ready to step up once the damage is done. This is a war being waged, not with bombs and bullets and missiles, but with food and gas and dollars. It is so much bigger than just some petulant squabble over Ukraine. So, rising food prices from Chinese hoarding? Yes, that is one reason. And it was done, *by design,* in advance of a breadbasket war that *they knew was coming.*

China is going for Taiwan. All their military exercises and stockpiling of LNG, coal, petroleum, and cornstuffs is directly indicative of what Putin did just before invading Ukraine. If this doesn't sound convincing enough, China is offering to raise people's social credit scores if they donate blood and plasma. They are building a gigantic blood stockpile and medical supplies. I'm not sure why media haven't connected the dots, but Kyle Bass gave a very convincing presentation of all the data at the Hudson Institute. China is in demographic collapse, so they are needing to act quickly for the best outcome.
