What’s something you do and think ‘I’ll never do this again, it’s not worth the cash saving’ but always end up doing again?

I have two cats. They're both former strays that my wife took on as kittens, and they're now living with us in the UK. I say now, because they were previously in Moscow. It cost circa £1,500 and a very long – and I imagine stressful – experience for them. They travelled in a cargo plane with other animals. I'm pretty sure this is the reason they **HATE** their cat carriers, even though we've changed them. They need grooming, though. One is Siberian and so hairy that it just gets absolutely everywhere, plus keeping their claws short means less snagged clothing etc. But honestly... the times we've taken them to the groomer, the closest decent one being 40 mins away by car, we're at our wits end. They usually are OK for 5-10 minutes, before the flood gates open and the car begins to fill with the scent of vomit, shit, and piss. Last time, I swore, would be the last time. We found a mobile groomer. It was about £200 as opposed to £80, but I wanted to do it. Weeks and months passed, and the time was coming again, and I thought ... *"Yeah, that's steep. Maybe this won't be so bad this time."* 10 minutes into the drive, my big white Scottish fold cat stood up like he was presenting himself at the podium for winning an event and proceeded to unleash a river of piss that slid out the back of his carrier and into his car seat. This was followed by the Oscar–winning performance that I Imagine led to such a pose, in that he just stared at me and howled for 30 minutes straight. Meanwhile, my Siberian was in the backseat doing a prefect rendition of that scene from Family Guy where nobody can stop vomiting. Mobile groomer.
