Where can you buy the cheapest cigarettes?

I don't smoke but I would like to keep some in my preps for bartering. Where can I buy the cheapest cigarettes possible? I'm on a prepping budget and don't need many.
Loganthered@reddit
Who smokes anymore?
swaggyxwaggy@reddit
He could stock up on vapes
ArtSchnurple@reddit
And electricity

Ooooo yeaaaaa
Loganthered@reddit
I enjoy a cigar every now and then but I'm not going to trade food or ammo for one.
There's nice to have and then need to have.
swaggyxwaggy@reddit
I just think it’s funny that people are buying stuff they don’t even need just to have something to barter with in case there’s a complete collapse of civilization.
As another commenter said, just stock up on things you actually need.
Ok_Lion_9387@reddit
1 LTL BRAVO .50CAL CO2 AND MARBLES USED FOR THUMB PLAYING 2 LOWER POWER EMP JAMMER 3 KASHMIR SAPPHIRE GEMS ARE LITERALLY THE ONLY STONE TO RETAIN VALUE AND NOT DEPRECIATE. DIAMONDS ARE GOOD AS GLASS AFTER SALE. 4 ARMS, DRUGS, DETOX DRUGS( VALIUM, SUBOXONE, PHENOBARBITAL, ALCOHOL -LIBRIUM, ADDERALL 5&10MG FOR THE METHAMPHETAMINE USERS TO KEEP FROM KILLING THEM SELVES,) AND FOR THOSE THAT ARE FUNCTIONAL INTELLIGENT OR MERELY HOPELESS, EVERYTHING FOUND IN DEUTSCHLAND AND PROBABLY A M11A1 FOR ONCE THEIR PLAY PRETEND LIFE IS EMPTY. 5 NUTRITION SHAKES
AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT SERIOUSLY CONSIDERS THIS SHIT
Loganthered@reddit
The key is to find out what others are going to need and want. Sure we all have food, water, some extras. But what about say, feminine products or simple OTC medication for anything from headaches to dysentery.
swaggyxwaggy@reddit
Right but what I’m saying is that if you stock for everything you need, then you don’t need random stuff to barter with.
Anyway, I prep for Tuesday
Loganthered@reddit
In long term situations most of us will run out of something or want something we didn't stock. There's also just having helpful items or small luxuries that will improve mental conditions.
I'm not even mentioning possible theft and unexpected spoilage.
Ok_Lion_9387@reddit
Everyone in every ghetto in the eastern tri state you idiot savant
Candid-Macaroon1337@reddit
I do. 🚬😤😁
GilbertGilbert13@reddit
Just spend that money on something useful. People will trade for useful things.
Foreign_Fun246@reddit
He didn't come here to be told what to do but to be told how to do or get something.
thepoopiestofbutts@reddit
Like, why buy things for bartering, when you can just buy what you'll need now
bsmith440@reddit (OP)
They may have something I didn't think of.
Bigcountry420@reddit
Or barter to get back someone or something taken from you. Or to pass through an area to get somewhere u need to go. Or for critical info in the moment
Ok-Explanation-1900@reddit
Yes. Always try to stockpile a variety of canned goods, fresh water and other commodities for survival and to trade in case of a zombie apocalypse or other end of civilization as we know it scenario.
Negative_Complaint30@reddit
This is the most unhelpful thread I've ever come across
GilbertGilbert13@reddit
If it's something you can only trade cigarettes for, you don't need it.
Leave_aloneplz@reddit
...you're SERIOUSLY underestimating what a smoker would do got a drag 😂
Icy-Medicine-495@reddit
I would stock up extra on stuff you already personally use instead of something you don't use like tobacco. Alcohol and coffee are other common vices that you might already use.
bsmith440@reddit (OP)
I stock up on those too, but I don't use them either.
Accomplished_Tip_187@reddit
Cigars are a very good social opening tool, i wouldn't hoard it buti think that having it definitely could be useful
swaggyxwaggy@reddit
lol right
Sar_Jenn@reddit
Omg, I’ve read through all of these comments, thinking that you said “bartending”, not “bartering” and was sooooo confused 😂😂 in my defense it’s mad early, I haven’t been awake for long yet 😂
TxDuke107@reddit
Forgive me for not helping by not answering your question, I would strongly advise you do not communicate with ANYONE you do not personally know. Desperate people do desperate things in desperate times. If you allow a stranger to get close enough to barter, they're close enough to kill you, rape your wife, daughter(s) and take everything you have.
I don't meant to be blunt and morbid but, that the way it is.
walrus_juggler@reddit
Lmao you're a complete nutjob

Accomplished_Tip_187@reddit
I see you point but i think it could be useful if you are moving around
TxDuke107@reddit
If you're moving around, you won't live another hour.
bunkerburner@reddit
Yes, this. I’ve seen this happen before in other countries, even “booths” that are set up with wares for sale, let alone person to person.
The scam goes something like this, and I saw it probably 100 times. You approach the booth, and while you are looking around you are being sized up by someone else on the sideline. They’re looking at your gear, your shoes, where you keep your money, how much it looks like you’ve got, are you armed, etc.
Whether or not you buy something you get a Y/N from the booth owner, and/or the wingman, and then a couple of dudes shake you down after you have walked away.
LIFTandSNUS@reddit
Grow it. Tobacco seed is cheap. It is relatively easy to grow and cure.
I quit smoking awhile ago when my run times started to suffer. I still enjoy smoking pipe on occasion and use snus regularly. I grow my own supply on occasion. Dirt cheap, tastes better, and I know what I put on it.
Then it's all about storage. Which isn't really all that bad, either.
I'd spend more time developing a marketable/barterable skill. There's a big incentive just to knock you over for your stash if it came to that. I've read of people that are strictly preparing for doing just that. If I were concerned about the end of the world.. I'd want to be worth more alive than dead to anyone I come across. I used to be a nurse in past life, I'm a leatherworker, I can weld/fabricate, I'm a farmer, I can build a house. These are the things I'd try and barter.
KorruptionOG@reddit
You have to get seeds from the government and you need a license for it
LIFTandSNUS@reddit
Not in the USA. Pretty sure that's not the case in Canada either.
KorruptionOG@reddit
Yeah you do in the USA it’s a new law
LIFTandSNUS@reddit
By all means, link me the law. I can't find a single federal agency that says they regulate the sale of seed or growing of tobacco for personal use. I also have a hard time believing a law that would destroy tobacco seed/breeding businesses and hand that business directly to the US government would ever pass.
KorruptionOG@reddit
It was repealed my bad I was wrong
butdidyousee@reddit
Ah Reddit, the land of questions never truly being answered🤣
Seriously though, which shops sell the cheapest smokes? This absolutely varies by cigarette brand as well but I legit need an answer to this, specifically for Camel Crush Menthols.
Usually my local smoke shops in Woodbridge are where I find the cheapest($8.50-8.80ish), sometimes it’s Sheetz($8.75ish-9ish), and then the other day I discovered an Exxon selling them for $7.87! And then 7-11 is all over the place with their prices, it’ll be $8-something one day and $10+ another day then back down again.
Tbh at this point I just want to know the best store to buy cartons.
Any assistance for the resistance?
neon57O@reddit
Cheapest is not buying them. There only going to he stale in a few weeks anyway
bsmith440@reddit (OP)
Would they go stale if they were vacuum sealed?
less_butter@reddit
Yes. There will still be air inside of the cigarettes, unless you want to crush them so they're unsmokeable.
As an alternative, get cans of tobacco for hand-rolled cigarettes and some papers. Canned tobacco will be "good" for 2 years, although it's probably smokeable long after that.
noobiusicerock@reddit
Fortunately, people have already thought of this. Oxygen absorbers and injecting nitrogen.
Character-Ad2825@reddit
You don't even need papers. They have pre mad tubes and you just pit the tube in the slot and turn the lever and it inject the tobacco into the tube. I can make close to a carton of cigs for about 14 dollars. They have different brands of tobacco. The stuff I use is literally called " The Good Stuff". with a non menthol tube it's as close to Newport as I can get.
neon57O@reddit
🤷🤷🤷 are you willing to spend 10$ to find out?
DannyBones00@reddit
As someone who smoked three packs a day for most of my 20’s, I can tell you a stale cigarette is still better than no cigarette.
Tall_Foundation_7069@reddit
You should ask a guy at the shop.
Timely_Vehicle@reddit
Loose tobacco and a Bible, make sure the paper is thin.
kcwildguy@reddit
Missouri has the lowest cigarette taxes in the US. I get Lucky Strikes (Not non-filter!) for under $35 a carton.
UnableLocal2918@reddit
Indian res if one is close by
DSBYOLOO@reddit
Buy a couple pipes. Wooden or otherwise. The rolling tobbacco will last longer that way.
Tactical_Roamer@reddit
Kentucky
Juk1993@reddit
Tobacco would be cheaper. But rolling tobacco. Should last a long time vac sealed
AdditionalAd9794@reddit
Smoke shop, buy by the carton. Also depending on your specific location it may or may not be cheaper to buy in another city, county or state. There are alot of taxes on cigarettes than can drastically change prices from one location to another
Pristine-Dirt729@reddit
Tobacco doesn't have a great shelf life, even when sealed, even when frozen.
Upset-Pin-1638@reddit
As others have mentioned, pre rolled, packaged cigarettes will go stale, or off. I don't think putting some aside is a bad idea, 'cause a stale cigarette is better than none. But you might consider adding tobacco seeds to you prepps. Tabacco is useful as a pesticide, shredded and mixed with water. The resulting tea can be sprayed on plants. Not sure of the safety on food crops though, might double check that. Any excess can always be trade off for recreational use.
TheIndulgery@reddit
You're better off buying bags of loose leaf tobacco and vacuum sealing it
ranger2187@reddit
Prison…. May cost you your add though, but that essentially free
bsmith440@reddit (OP)
I like my holes current diameter. Thank you sir
ranger2187@reddit
Well then the answer is no….
gqreader@reddit
You stock up on nicotine gum
FancyShoesVlogs@reddit
Just grow tabacoo.
A_Lost_Desert_Rat@reddit
Cigs have a shelf life. They dry out and go stale, even if in a sealed package. Maybe bulk paper and tobacco.
AnonymousPatriot11@reddit
Eagle 20’s by far lol
gwhh@reddit
North Carolina. Wholesale warehouse.
Successful_Print_559@reddit
Grow tobacco. Or just buy seeds.
Ok_Permission_3335@reddit
Cigarettes will stay fresh in the freezer for approx two years. Cigs from Indian Reservations are less than $3/pack.
lilithONE@reddit
Grow tobacco instead.
LowBarometer@reddit
They will go stale no matter how you pack them. If you want something to barter post SHTF for the nicotine addicted, maybe stock vape juice, or nicotine patches or gum.
Hinterwaeldler-83@reddit
Vacuum sealed and oxygen absorber maybe?
Overall-Tailor8949@reddit
I know that on tribal property they don't have to charge/collect state taxes on tobacco.
2020blowsdik@reddit
I roll my own out of tolling papers, filters, and pipe tobacco
ARG3X@reddit
Do you barter now? If not, you may want to get the learning curve out of the way sooner than later. And vetted people to barter with is priceless.
HeathenBliss@reddit
Reservations, Missouri, Idaho, north Carolina, or buying bulk raw leaves and a leaf shredder and vacuum sealing.
Tbh, get a pipe. Do you don't have to worry about long term storage of papers.
AccomplishedInAge@reddit
Vacuum sealing .. how much longer would that extend the “shelf life” of cigarettes?
Harvest_Santa@reddit
Plug chewing tobacco. Slice thin slivers off and smoke in a corn cob pipe. Pipes and plugs will be great trade goods.
CapeManiac@reddit
Boxes of tubes, bags of tobacco, machine. $50= 10 cartons
LongRangeRecce@reddit
Cigarette vacuum sealed with an O2 absorber inside the bag will keep cigarettes… not fresh, But not stale either…. For at least 2 years. Can confirm. Tried this myself, for the same curiosity.
cutandcopious@reddit
Rolling tobacco. Pipe tobacco. Vacuum packed. Enjoy.
DannyBones00@reddit
Look around for like tobacco outlets in your area. They may be in the seedy part of town. Go there. Buy one carton of Marlboro Reds and one of Marlboro Lights. At least. Nothing has brand recognition like Marlboro.
Or find a nice Indian ran gas station and ask what their cheapest brand is and buy those. They’ll be substantially cheaper. Something like Timeless Time’s (Korean cigs) or … something Eagle. They’re terrible but better than nothing.
TheStig15@reddit
A sealed bag of tobacco would probably last longer, I’d buy that and some rolling papers and call it a day
Astewen@reddit
In New Jersey, which has among the highest tobacco taxes in the nation, you can roll-your-own for about $1.40 a pack. Rolling machine cost is extra, I paid $89 for mine and have rolled 15k and it's still going great, so add another 9 cents a pack to include roller. All together, still less than $1.50 a pack.
produkt921@reddit
Buy loose bagged tobacco and boxes of filter tubes. They're cheaper and are just as good for barter items, lots of people (like me) make their own cigarettes.
Kevthebassman@reddit
Missouri. Lowest tax on tobacco in the nation.
Buy tinned loose tobacco and rolling papers.
