Interesting how we are only hearing about all the crumbling schools. What about the hospitals, tower blocks, police stations, council offices etc?

Genuine question here. Whilst the schools are clearly a priority I wonder why we're not hearing anything about other public buildings? There must thousands of buildings erected with this concrete so what about the rest? Also, I can't help wondering who sanctioned it's use or why, when it was known at the time it only had a 30 year life span. Why would any governing body give building clearance to such a short term material? Thoughts?
