Why are there no trains available on Sunday August 9th?

I wanted to buy train tickets to travel on August 9th between Bath and York, but there are no tickets, not via any route. >**Tickets for Sunday 9 August** The LNER timetable for Sunday 9 August is currently being finalised before tickets for this date can be released. Is there a reason why no tickets are scheduled yet? Thank you in advance. I am not from the UK and I don't know of the local events that may affect travel on that date, I am planning a trip because I enjoyed my last visit in 2016 and I would like to see more of the country.

It's not because they're fully booked if that's what you are concerned about... Trains are so expensive here, it's very rare not to be able to book.. I'm not sure I would even prebook I'd be that confident! But for peace of mind it makes sense for you. Normally they're available to book twelve weeks in advance, I would recommend just waiting a week - it's likely the schedule isn't out yet..

It depends where you are catching from. I spent £44 on a Return train from Newport to London. To me it's not bad for an hour and half journey.
