Are all your houses predominantly made of out wood?

I keep on seeing in other SMs that new build houses are very wood dependent. In the UK it’s lots of brick work and then wooden beams in the attic.
Is it the case all over the US? I really don’t see that as a good idea in the southern states with more potentially severe weather like Florida, having wood instead of brick.
Is it a lot cheaper to source?
