Are GPUs getting cheaper?

I've noticed that GPUs on the lower end such as the 5060 TIs and even the Radeon 9700s are getting cheaper or having discounts online. It seemed to be in direct contrast to the trends that we see of more and more GPU manufacturers allocating production to enterprise chips over consumer GPUs. You'd think that the prices for these GPUs would be going up instead of down as the supply shrank. I was wondering if anyone had insight into this as I bought parts recently that are still within their return window. I planned to sell them for a small loss a year or two from now, but, if prices are going down dramatically, I'm hesitant about what I have.

Really where are you looking ?? I"ve only seen the 5060tis drop by 20 USD since Jan.

I would guess the reason the R9700 is dropping from 1500 to 1200 is because a 32GB B70 Pro goes for $1000. AMD and Intel are currently fighting for the niche that NVIDIA is leaving and it's affecting their pricing, since users that care about the best features aside from memory will just go to either new or user NVIDIA cards. This does not mean that the whole market is dropping in price, even thought it might, no idea. If overall prices are dropping, it could be due to demand falling as fewer people are willing to build a PC and thus buy DIY components, which in turn will lead to their prices fall. Some parts of the DIY industry have seen demand drop by 80% compared to a year ago.

With those prices in USA, no wonder EU is so back in tech. :/ Right now the B70 is at same price with the R9700. Around €1500 (around $1750) and sales tax isn't the reason as at best could have been $1200-1240. (€1035ish). I envy you Americans for having cheap petrol/gas, cheap electronics and more or less cheap everything even food, and waaaaayyyyyy lower taxes, compared to us 😞

But is true. $2.58 is the USA avg for 12 eggs and complaining about, while in Europe you cannot even buy 6 eggs with that money in many countries, even the ones with extremely low salaries like Greece. Fuel? Heh. Laughable. In Europe the prices are 400%-600% higher always. The only things in USA are more expensive than Europe are Extra Virgin Olive Oil and real Greek Feta by ships & goats milk 🤷‍♂️ And don't start me with the salaries comparisons......

It is "better" for skilled workers, but we have less quality of life than you all do. 2 weeks vacation is normal, there's way less regulation, houses are built of paper, you will HAVE to have a car, and most places feel like the same strip mall over and over and over again.

Define quality of life. What quality of life exists when the government takes over 50% of the salary in taxes (direct and indirect taxtes) compared to 10% in USA for the same amount? And we are talking here about mid £50K/€50Κ. Sure most Europe has free healthcare but even that one these days is down the drain forcing you to go private.

3090s are pretty close to peak since 40 series release - so I sold them. Sold 2 out of three 5090 recently, made like 1k on each. Bought R9700, keeping Pro 6Ks. B60s have had a drop in price somewhat recently. But, I don't have a crystal ball, I don't know wheter they'll get more expensive or drop a bit in the next 6 months or so - if I did, I'd place a massive bet ;)
