I've never heard of this mystical "Ottawa" but I do know Calgary. My dad's driven up there a few times.

Ottawa is the capital of the country. Calgary is the less famous cousin of Edmonton.

Well Ottawa is the capital. So I’d saw that. Calgary has the stampede. That’s all I know about it.

Didn’t answer the question at all but glad you got that off your chest. Anything else you’d like to share with the class?

I feel like you hear about Ottowa more, but Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal are the most famous

Id actually say Calgary due to cultural reasons. I dont really ever hear "Ottawa" on the news here to refer to Canada's federal government like 'Washington" is used to refer to rhe US federal government

I think it depends on context. Ranchers and hikers may say Calgary, but Ottawa is the capital city, so it’s usually featured on the news more often.

As an American, definitely Calgary.

I think Calgary but it might depend on which side of the country you live on.

Calgary. Has had an Olympics, more widely known outside Canada….even though Ottawa is capital.

I imagine it depends on what part of the US you are from. Growing up in northern Montana, and then living around the west, Calgary was somewhere I heard about a lot more than Ottawa.

Calgary, I'd say. But I'm from the West Coast of the US.
