Rookie problems

Yesterday I got pulled into a scale house, I received a citation for my tandems being too far apart. Luckily i got a break on being overweight on my drive axles, and they found my tire tread falling off. I got a break on that too. I called on road and had them come out and fix it and i mentioned my 5th wheel lock indicator was blinking red. They took me out of service and now im at a truck stop waiting for another driver to pick up my load so i can bobtail to the nearest terminal. I lost out on 2 loads i was preplanned on. Ive been solo for 5 days. My driver leader is being very kind to me. It’s been a time.

I wish every rookie got to start off in LTL, shit way easier to learn overtime and never gotten a ticket like how I see every day occurrence on Reddit.

I continuously have the lowest drive cam score at my terminal. They pulled me in the office and asked me how I do it. I told them I pulled food tankers for a couple million miles. It makes you pay attention 10x more than pulling a cracker box. I think every CDL driver should pull a food tanker for awhile. It makes you way smoother

You need to pre trip dude

I did my Pretrip but I forgot to scale out after getting loaded

Obliviously not if you didn’t notice your tire tread or 5th wheel indicator.

I’ll do better

That’s all we can do. The first few months are rough, but it’ll get better. You’re already doing better than I did in my first week. Don’t get discouraged and just keep working at it

Swift ain’t going to let you keep getting away with this.

I understand that and I’ll make sure it won’t happen again.
