Help with connecting monitor to pc.

So, I built the PC but when finally turning it on and connecting it to the monitor, the latter says there is no video input and that it is entering standby mode. I honestly have no idea what went wrong. The ram is correctly connected, since the locks are in place. The gpu is hot and it's ventilators are working, so I assume it is being used. Every other ventilator works and the motherboard has a red light and two zeroes lighting up. Please, someone help me. If you want to chat on private and lend me a more personalized hand, I would really appreciate it. First PC build btw, thanks!

two zero's means its failing to post, try clearing cmos, reseating ram and checking your 24pin and cpu wire are correctly seated

Dont take this the wrong way, but I have to ask... Is your HDMI/DP plugged into the graphics card?
