Just be a leftie, issue solved
Shotgunseth29@reddit
There you go, just gotta add a little butt pad/ somewhere to shoulder it.

I think this might be the worst thing I've ever created
TacTurtle@reddit
MP40 had a one night stand with a High Standard Model 10 shotgun
majula_kirijo@reddit (OP)
Or maybe like this?
majula_kirijo@reddit (OP)
I like the idea. If I ever have the motivitation, I'll try to make a somewhat plausible edit of that.
SnooDoodles6060@reddit
show the fcg tho
majula_kirijo@reddit (OP)
I didn't make a mockup of it but I'm pretty sure it would be doable to either shorten that long bar in the middle or leave it out completely somehow (with some redesigning of the trigger and the top part of the fcg)
UH1Phil@reddit
Look at the Sterling SMG maybe? That thing has the grip approximately where your redesign has.
I also would love to see that little cute folding stock folded right behind the pistol grip lol
majula_kirijo@reddit (OP)
I had to cheat a little bit by shortening the stock even further.
Also the sterling smg is a suggestion. I somehow forgot about it when searching for references of other open bolt smgs from that era.
UH1Phil@reddit
Awesome lol!
Yeah the Sterling doesn't have that weird linkage from the trigger to the bolt, they just placed the sear and bolt right above the trigger and called it a day. But the Sterling has the magazine on the side though, so it can be even more compact.
Then they butchered it by having the longest, gorilla arm-sized ass-backwards stock they could make. I've held a replica and it's just such an odd decision.
TacTurtle@reddit
Move the FCG forward and make a trigger that catches the bolt like a Star Z70.

Little known fact, MP-40 stands for Mans Problemsolver Fo'ty
