Israel kept up strikes on southern Lebanon on Tuesday, pressing its campaign against Hezbollah a day after U.S. President Donald Trump asked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to attack Beirut to avert further escalation in the three-month-old war.
Following Trump's intervention, Lebanon's government said Israel would refrain from carrying out threatened strikes on the Hezbollah-controlled southern suburbs of Beirut, while the group would halt attacks against Israel.
But the announcement has failed to reassure many Lebanese or halt the broader war in south Lebanon, which Netanyahu has vowed would continue. The din of an Israeli drone over Beirut kept residents on edge on Tuesday.
The Lebanese government has said it would seek to expand the ceasefire in talks with Israeli officials in Washington that began on Tuesday, the latest in a series of face-to-face meetings Beirut has attended despite Hezbollah objections.
Iran has demanded a Lebanon ceasefire as part of any wider deal with the U.S. to end the three-month-old war that began with U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran at the end of February.

Why do we continue sending our tax dollars who care for nothing except for killing everyone else around them?
Its clearly obvious at this point that Bibi cant be reasoned with and he'll just do whatever he wants anyway. No point in having "negotiation" talks with him.

We'd have had a much more contained crisis if it was only Bibi that couldn't be reasoned with. A whole lotta Israeli officials in favour of this farce plus a sizeable public support make that very difficult to resolve.
On another matter, the EU's response (or lack thereof) is turning me into an euroskeptic. Thought we were supposed to be good ones??? What a joke.

We are the genocide enablers. Maybe not Spain or Ireland, but Germany and a few others.

So much for Trump cursing at Netanyahu not to. Fascist Itamar Ben-Gvir says it's time to say no to Americans and Netanyahu jumps.
The tail is wagging the dog. The ethnic cleansing cheerleader of Israel is calling the shots for the US.

Israel's idea of stopping a fight is that they'll only do body shots and stop going for the face.
Somehow I feel like this logic won't exactly satisfy a ceasefire deal with Iran..... making it basically pointless. I guess Trump just wants to feel less emasculated?
