Trump has ordered the National Science Foundation to dismantle the deep ocean monitoring system in the Atlantic and Pacific. It has been essential for researching ocean temperatures, absorption of greenhouse gases in the ocean, the weakening AMOC, etc.

I guess if the data goes against your ideology, stop collecting the data?

What data is still there needed? We are fucked regardless. We can do live monitoring to follow how the fuckery is advancing, and at what pace, but at the end it makes no difference. It's almost a form of cuckoldry, watching live how the earth gets fucked, on top of that the content being milked for clickbait, media, news, videos etc.

Why I wonder if they're just dismantling the public facing data. I'd guess somewhere between being too cheap to actually retrieve all physical infrastructure, but too cheap to actually keeping running effectively for himself.

I get it. But this action is also just so fucking stupid and needlessly self-injuring. That’s why I’m upset the most these days, just how stupid and spiteful all of this is.

It’s bad enough that the house is on fire, but we’ve also got guys going around dumping fire extinguishers down the toilet and ranting about how flames are natural.
