DFS and Entra/Autopilot

It's been a while but does DFS work properly now on autopilot devices? Older posts seem to suggest it being funky at times.
Our current Fileserver is a 2016, so plans are being made to get rid of this thing.
Ideally we will have 2 fileservers and use DFS. Makes it easier for maintenance, etc.
We are Hybrid, but all new devices are Intune/autopilot.

Can you not use intune/autopilot with AD joined (hybrid) devices? Seems flawed.

You can, but the devices have to have Line-of-Site to the DC during the process, just like non-autopilot hybrid devices.

domain namespaces will cause Entra joined clients to fall back to NTLM. you'll want to use a standalone DFS namespace. no issues outside that.

I am out of the loop here - what did those older posts say? we are hybrid and using intune and DFS and have no issues .. however we only use DFS for clients to map drives. I am not pulling packages or installing anything via DFS with intune. And we are not on autopilot yet.

It works in our environment, use pins rather than mapped drives though.
