Russian doto best doto
blitzkriegjack@reddit
Most of those are some anime weeb bullshit, his friend is right
-ThoR-@reddit
Yeah these recommendations are all dog shit. It's not hard to put together a list based off "good story, no button mashers", but leave it to the weebs to shove their slop down other people's throats.
_Batmax_@reddit
“My friend who enjoys competitive online games is looking for recommendations. I know what he needs, a 30 year old ps2 exclusive stealth game”
AyFrancis@reddit
The fuck are you gonna suggest him then? Cod campaign?
Anguscablejnr@reddit
From context...yes.
Blashmir@reddit
I would have pitched Doom 2016.
emrednz07@reddit
Honestly a banger from what I remember. Just challenging enough to be engaging, just long enough to not bore you after you run out of unique glory kill animations and weapons, there's a surprising amount of lore for a doom game if you are interested in reading a bunch of text, awesome soundtrack, and very well optimized (well duh it came out in 2016 but it runs very crumulently on even a GTX 1050 laptop)
Shootemout@reddit
or the new wolfenstein 1/2 campaign they were pretty peak and adhd enough
AyFrancis@reddit
Shit suggestion and advise then, you would better educating your friend into single player games instead
hypokrios@reddit
I have college to get an education. If I'm playing games I want to have fun.
assasin1598@reddit
Honestly I would recommend him the first Cod and Cod: united offensive.
YourLocalSnitch@reddit
Bad graphics, not playing them grandpa
smokeymcdugen@reddit
Could be talking about splinter cell.
AyFrancis@reddit
He was talking about MGS as if only the ps2 games exists
kulingames@reddit
The first and second cod were extremely good games so maybe that?
briunj04@reddit
Borderlands 2
RM97800@reddit
Yes, old CoD campaigns were peak
Firm_Ad_5427@reddit
I mean fucking pathologic classic? That's like someone saying "I liked harry potter, what book should I read next?" And suggesting reading The Fundamentals of Thermodynamics
ThisUsernameis21Char@reddit
WITH A GOOD STORY
Also, it doesn't seem like he's enjoying those games at all, lmao
The latest MGS game came out on all current gen consoles and PC
KhalasSword@reddit
He doesn't want to play MGS because of Kojima and that is completely understandable.
the22ndquincy@reddit
Why do we hate Kojima now?
ThisUsernameis21Char@reddit
Even if so, that's not the point Batmax tried to make
Jugaimo@reddit
Dishonored is a banger that seems to appeal to PC shooter gamers.
MagiStarIL@reddit
It could've been Metal Gear Rising
YemuZ@reddit
Played through the whole series except part 4 on my series X. Part 4 is to come
jimkun221@reddit
Ported and widely available Espionage Action, dumb fuck
O5NR@reddit
Asks for story heavy games. Get surprised when he doesn't get recommended TF2.
ZaidCharades@reddit
Horse meet water (level impossible)
BBQ_069@reddit

Gamxin@reddit
I love KH, but if someone ever tried getting me into it with this image I'd go out of my way to avoid it
deathbylasersss@reddit
I'd rather blow Goofy and then Pluto before playing that Disney nostalgia slop. They also said good story, not incomprehensible fever dream split between 32 titles.
kulingames@reddit
And among those 32 titles is a goddamn java brickphone game for some goddamn reason
corvettezr11@reddit
Are you serious? lmao
kulingames@reddit
Dead fucking serious
corvettezr11@reddit
Amazing, simply amazing
Blashmir@reddit
KH Union Cross
GoGoSoLo@reddit
When I broke free of Dota2’s grasp I sold all my items for like $900~, and haven’t paid for games in years. If only other addictions had nice little monetary bonuses for breaking them.
Danijay2@reddit
DOTA 2 is kinda like League of Legends, right? So how would you sell items? Do you mean like your account or something?
Anabiter@reddit
Dota 2 is on steam, there are a plethora of dota hero coamrtics you can sell on the steam community market. Some older stuff is extremely expensive and the skins all have rarities.
Danijay2@reddit
Ahh. I see. So it's skins and cosmetics you sell, not actual items.
Razzmatazz-Plastic@reddit
I mean, it also has items, like a helmet that adds a cool new effect when you press your ultimate, you can make your own custom look cause the skins aren't one in a whole, they're pieces that can mix and match. And each individual piece can also be sold
crocodilepickle@reddit
No way in hell someone who played csgo for 2000 hours knows who kojima is
dagon_xdd@reddit
is kojima niche or something? maybe he used to be but not anymore
crocodilepickle@reddit
kojima isnt niche at all but he makes games that are wildly different from dota or cs, story driven cinematic games vs competitive games
my point was someone who only plays these types of games either wouldnt know who kojima is or wouldnt know by heart what games he made
PrrrromotionGiven1@reddit
At no point since 1998 has Kojima been obscure
black-winter-@reddit
I’d be more surprised if a gamer with internet access didn’t know who Kojima is. The massively popular, critically acclaimed MGS and Death Stranding series are not niche, bud.
Kreestijan@reddit
hey.. what's... what's wrong with that?
BaldEagleNor@reddit
There are dozens of us
JJ_LARGE@reddit
99% of 'games arent the same anymore' videos on YouTube. Yeah we get it FIFA and Call of Duty suck now, they have for about a decade, jackass. Play a goddamn RPG for once in your life.
0c_099@reddit
Only thing that can fix the urge to play for dota players is more dota or deadlock (also made by the same dev aka dota with guns)
A_Stoned_Smurf@reddit
Dota3 is a good time. I feel like its going to go the path of TF2 unfortunately, even worse because its hard to enjoy "casually". The movement tech and mechanics of tf2 with the added complexity of a true moba (map management, itemizing and skill priorities, rotations and spikes) are gonna make it DOA for most people. Street Brawl might convince a few people to check out the game proper, but who knows.
I think it's gonna have a niche but dedicated base that won't stop playing until the servers shut off, and actively run away new players because Timmy gets matched with a nonbinary nazi furry femmegirlboy that has 20k+ hours in it due to the small pool.
Matt_2504@reddit
Age of empires 2
NotNonbisco@reddit
Anon and his friend have bad taste in videogames
rpodnee@reddit
Boktai mentioned?! I'm actually replaying it right now.
The best modern game I've played in maybe ten years though has been Tunic. That game really blew my mind with how creative and awesome it was.
Defiant-Silver9593@reddit
Some gamers are addicted to constant no brainer adrenaline games and that is fine
japengski@reddit
I wouldnt call those competitive games no brainer
lovethecomm@reddit
DOTA is one of the most brain on games but a lot of these casuals think that any competitive game is brain off.
Anabiter@reddit
Dota is easily the hardest moba to pick up and play. League is miles easier, and smite shot itself in the foot and made a mid sequel.
KhalasSword@reddit
Anon is an idiot, most of the games he recommends are either ancient or are very niche.
Is it that hard to recommend just a good, "for everyone", game? BG3, Clair Obscur, Dead Space Remake, Pragmata, Space Marine 2, Undertale, Warcraft 3/StarCraft/StarCraft2.
Blashmir@reddit
Calling BG3 an everyone game is certainly a stretch.
PrrrromotionGiven1@reddit
>ancient
not a criticism
>very niche
that's why you try multiple games, to find your own niche, not just play generic slop constantly that is a 7/10 for everyone. Practically all of those games are recognised as among the best in their genre, so the first step is to figure out what genres you like.
Jimakiad@reddit
BOKTAI AND MMBN MENTIONED 🔥
OrangeHairedTwink@reddit
WARFRAME MENTIONED RAHHH
Matt_with_a_sword@reddit
HOLY FUCKING SHIT MAN
I WAS ABOUT TO SAY WARFRAME MENTIONED BUT OF COURSE YOU'RE THE ONE TO SAY IT BEFORE ME
OrangeHairedTwink@reddit
Why did you emphasize the you're
Matt_with_a_sword@reddit
Because I run into you everywhere. I'm the guy who lest a comment on one of your comments about the morning work commute.
Matt_with_a_sword@reddit
Fuck that sounded insanely stalkerish jesus
Apologies, I'm hella tired
OrangeHairedTwink@reddit
I mean that commute comment was a stalkery joke, so we're even now
Matt_with_a_sword@reddit
True that

Getting into fast paced live service games is the equivalent of getting addicted to a smartphone. It damages your capacity to enjoy singleplayer story games once youre too far in.. similar to how phones have damaged peoples ability to pay attention to books, movies, etc.
Your friend needs a detox haha
Designated_Lurker_32@reddit
>good story
>no action
I think this guy just wants a book
_Ethyls_@reddit
"I will not play anything Kojima."
Mentions Boktai almost right away.
Screlingo@reddit
dota is such a curse. you can barely bring yourself to enjoy other games after witnessing perfection.

Moooooom! Anon is arguing with the imaginary people in his head again!
Neo_Ex0@reddit
with his preference for comparative multiplayer games and the fact that some of them are FPS, i would have recommended him Titanfall 2 , the multiplayer is nice and competitive(even though it does have a cheater problem though seeing that he has 2K hours in CS:GO im guessing he can work with that) and the campaign is a beautiful story with an ending that still makes me cry nearly a decade later
internetlad@reddit
They don't think it be that way but it do
Oodle600@reddit
Dota 2 based.
