This song went viral before viral was a thing. I remember hearing this on the radio and thinking WTF?!?. Was this a hit in any other countries or just the USA?

I think it was inspired by the murder of Lisa Steinberg.

I grew up about 50 miles from NYC and remember that story being all over the news. As an adoptee, it hit me especially hard.

Same. I remember being indignant over Hedda Steinberg’s defense, but life is very black and white when you’re 14.

I clearly remember this song on Chicago radio as a kid. The adult singer at the end gives off Budweiser “Real Men of Genius” vibes.

Fun fact: the RMOG singer was Dave Bickler, from the band Survivor.

Did not know that! Thanks for that nugget of knowledge.

Nope, just listened to it and glad I missed it. Will go back to listening to Agalloch.

Never heard of this song in my life (US).
But on 1986 I was a senior in HS and I was very busy going to concerts, parties, listening to metallica and chasing girls.

I may have been one of those girls.
