Dropbars -love them, hate them, what's your take

with Walmart releasing the Ozark Trail e-gravel and Ride1up also having a dropbar bike, it looks like dropbars might become more common on e-bikes, even in the budget sector.
I'm just interested in who here already is on dropbars, might consider a dropbar bike in the future, never tried them at all, or also hates them enough to categorically deny ever getting one.
Just some friendly discussion
To me they are the ultimate ergo-bars for long rides that don't need mountainbike-like control.
Set your stem, stack and bar angle and hoods, depending on your preference for either more aggressive/aero or more endurance posture. choose between hoods, drops and top depending on how you feel at the moment, and just breeze through the miles.

I’ve ridden an older road bike with drop bars that I spent about a solid hour and a half restoring.
I really like how they look and I understand they can allow for more aerodynamics, but with how my back is flat bars make things just easier to ride. On top of that, they’re just more familiar.

Aesthetically, I think drop bars look dope as hell, especially on gravel bikes and monstercross/hardtail mountain bikes.
Functionally, I much prefer an upright seating position, and put a 50mm riser bar with 25⁰ backsweep which is perfect for me ergonomically. I am older and not in the best shape so comfort is priority over performance.
So while I like the look of drop bars, my lower back and wrists ache just looking at them.

Not only that, but drop bars, your head is angled so you’re staring at the road. I like to sightsee while I’m cycling so an upright position naturally angles my head for an excellent angle of view and situational awareness.

I prefer flat bars, they are safer, more control and better breaking. I almost crashed this weekend because of slippery road, with drop bars I'd be in hospital, that already justifies using flat bars even if they are it's efficient or whatever
