instead of talking to reddit talk to your neighbour. Most people are nice.
And, the bamboo does not appear to be touching the fence. it looks like where its attached to the post behind the shed its come loose some how.
and... talk to your neighbour, politely.

That’s not the bamboo doing that. That said i would keep an eye out for runners under your fence in the long run.
It’s more likely the posts. Maybe the ivy. Just needs a proper look to figure out the problem. Go to them with a positive mindset about it and I would be happy personally to be splitting costs 50-50 if it’s unclear who owns.

Find out who owns the fence!

Replace flimsy fence with a proper brick wall 🧱

Stand far enough away that it doesn't fall on you.

The boundary itself is shared responsibility however, your neighbours plant is damaging you property so they are legally responsible for keeping their plant in check. If their ivy, tree, or shrub is damaging your property (e.g., roots cracking foundations or branches breaking tiles, bamboo pushing over your fence - that's encroachment, they are liable for the repair costs and maintaining the plant.
Talk to them before getting legal. Take dated photos of the damage to your property and the encroaching plant.
If informal talks fail, send a formal letter via recorded delivery outlining the damage and requesting them to fix it, setting a reasonable deadline.
If that doesn't wield any positive result, go for mediation - you've done everything necessary to prove you took reasonable actions to get the matter sorted and which your neighbour ignored.

Hi,
Thank you for your helpful response. I will try this way. 🙂

To be honest, photo 2 doesnt even look like the Banboo is touching the fence, let alone pushing on it.
The remainder of the photos say that the fence panel is at best tired and probably at the end of its life - you need a new one.
I'm sorry ro say it, but this looks like a you (to solve) problem and not a neighbour problem
OlParky@reddit
Professionally speaking it looks like you are stood in front of it..

Firstly, do *not* cut anything down especially stuff that isn't on your side of the fence.
Secondly, it doesn't look like that bamboo is touching the fence at all. I bet it's just rotten / broken.
If the land registry doesn't mark ownership, then 99% likely it is owned by both of you.
