Dell VS Lenovo in the business environment.

I've found old posts but i know things change and hardware quality changes.
We are looking to start swapping out computers at our company and I'm wondering what would be better. Dell or Lenovo.
I worked for an MSP for a few years before this job and i had good experience with both.
I've used dell in the business environment for years with little issues and great luck with their support.
I've sold Lenovo's as well with little to no issue and great support options. and used them on a personal level with great experience with higher end support levels even on the consumer side.
When pricing out computers they all come to close enough to the same price that i can make either brand work and the warranty prices seem to balance out as well.
I'm looking for Engineering/design laptops P series or pro max? series unsure on dells new precision models still.
For sales and standard employees the dell 14 laptops or T series laptops.
for upper management X1 carbon models or XPS 13s. sadly surfaces are included based on request but I'm trying to avoid that at all costs.
I've had good experience with both brands myself so im looking for honest input from others on their experience over the last year or two with the hardware.
thanks!

Honestly, you'll get 50 different answers from 50 different people. They're all going to be very similar - go with what gives you the warm and fuzzy feeling.
Personally I prefer Lenovo, I've had good experiences with them and in general find them to have moderately better support than Dell.

Seconding all of this.
Lenovo has great support, though learned it the hard way. During the supply chain issues in 2021 it seems every new Lenovo laptop we got in had a bad motherboard. Their techs were quick and efficient replacing the motherboards at least. Plus they were fun to hang out with while I had to babysit them being in the building
Dell’s support is just okay I guess by comparison.

That's so crazy we had the same exact issue with Dell and is what caused the switch to Lenovo. We definitely had a few duds that were the same problem as Dell in that time period
notarealaccount223@reddit
Our sister company was running Dell during the same time period and had similar failures. It was not just Lenovo.
Little frustrating getting a brand new system with a bad MB twice in a quarter, but I've never had it happen before or since.

The chassis are better on the Lenovo T/X than any Dell has ever made
internal components are wash
Dells visually look better
support varies depending on what you pay for or dont pay for

dell support makes me hurt

Dell Support has always been the best in my experience. That's a big part of the reason I've recommended them for the last 20 years. I've dabbled with Lenovo & HP (years ago) and they were a joke when compared to Dell's support.

While i feel they are a pain to deal with. They at least follow through. I had a laptop that started its repair 2 months before the warranty ran out and they stuck with the repair months after the warranty expired till the issue was resolved. but this is one instance. ended up swapping Motherboard/Ram/hard drive after warranty technically expired on the device.

I feel like everyone complaining about support is probably talking about the free tier because their devices were out of warranty.
That being said, I prefer dell because their machines come with no non-microsoft bloat and their driver packs always work with MDT. I like lenovo well enough but feel like you pay a little extra just for the name. I've only ever worked at orgs that are mostly dell though, so my experience with Lenovo has only been on the personal side.
Honestly, as long as you're getting a warranty, neither option is bad. Just don't buy a cheap dell/lenovo as a test and base your entire strategy around that.

Dell > anything else for me personally!
LiteratureThat4566@reddit
Only ever had issues with Dells. With that said, we were buying cheaper Dells, but even on the higher end I still get weird driver issues or boot loops etc. Lenovo's have just worked, no real issues with them, users like them better and their support has never been a problem. However, we also got higher quality Lenovo's. So could also be that.

I think we can all agree HP is shit

Dell all the way. Lenovo support has been a nightmare for me
Demented_CEO@reddit
Lenovo for any end user devices, Dell for what goes in your on-prem racks (if you have any).
Dell Pro support is so good. Malfunctioning NVDIMM in your Isilon? Fucked up SSD in your PowerStore? They ship NBD, no questions asked. Even amid all the shortages and price hikes. They've honored every request we have had.
That said, Dell laptops are pure shite. ThinkPads are far better and seem to last longer.
Wifite@reddit
Currently switching my business from Dell to Lenovo for end user hardware. I think the Lenovo costs are more competitive and the hardware at least on the laptops seem a bit better. Support between the two brands is the same in my experience
RadiantWhole2119@reddit
I prefer Lenovo for the actual hardware, but Dell for support.
Though I can no longer purchase Lenovo due to government bullshit.
CrackedInterface@reddit
On my end, the support for both has been pretty decent with a quick turn around. Though I've only been using the warranty claim systems and havent spoken with a rep directly to be driven through the hoops.
As far as actual pcs, We used Lenovo's mini desktops and rarely if ever had trouble with them. True workhorses. In the Dell world, we used their laptops and had to send in a few for warranty. They just seem to have random issues. Bios corruption, motherboard frying, battery dying, etc etc. My first thought was maybe the end users are doing something, but it just kept happening. For the most part, they are still reliable machines, but I wouldn't be surprised if a ticket popped up one day about them.
Vodor1@reddit
Dell mostly, seem to get better parts for repair, but only just.
Lenovo fills the gap when price is an issue.

We use all HP, its a mix of Pro/Elite desk.
