My brother-in-law would like a new gaming PC. We're in the UK and wants it for gaming and general use
What would you recommend in this price range please? I'll pass on your advice to him

Don't get the 9070 GRE, this 9070 is 16 pounds more expensive, mnuch faster and has 4GB more: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/mL9nTW/powercolor-reaper-radeon-rx-9070-16-gb-video-card-rx9070-16g-a

If it would have fit the budget I would have made a list with that gpu.

Swapping the cooler for a £15 Thermalright Assassin X would bring it under budget

I made some adjustments which allow Op to get the 9070 within the budget.

Aren't there cheaper B650 boards?

I'm sure OP can find 17 pounds more if they can find 1200 total.
And if they really need to stay under 1200 exactly they fish one of the hundreds of thousands of unused AMD wraith stock coolers somewhere. Or worst case save on the PSU.
Going for a 9070 GRE to save 17 pounds is crazy either way.

Never, ever save money with the PSU. It could save youre PC even from Bad/Old Electric Work thats in the House

There are plenty of high enough quality PSU available in the UK for 65 pounds.
A 9070 with a 7500F doesn't need a 850W PSU either. It'll run perfectly fine on any decent 650W PSU.
You shouldn't buy junk, but that doesn't mean you need to overspend either. I'd take a 9070 with a 650W non modular PSU any day over a 9070 GRE with an overspecced one.
