Mer De Noms or Thirteenth Step?

Yes, yes, and “Eat the Elephant”

I'm that odd ball that either cleans in silent or if a game is on, I will listen to it as I clean.
Surlyllama23@reddit
80s arena rock, specifically Def Leppard or Guns n' Roses.
themrsfreeze@reddit
Dumb, but I like to clean to Paula Abdul because that’s what I would listen to while I had to clean my room. Throw in some Color Me Bad and Stone Temple Pilots now and I’ll happily get the whole house done! I just turn on YouTube Music on the TV instead of a stereo for motivation.
meateatingmama@reddit
I suddenly want to clean my house.
Competitive-Sweet25@reddit (OP)
You are a person after my own heart. I've ordered a copy of Colour Me Badds' 12 inch vinyl "I Wanns Sex You Up" as a gift. I'll pick it up this weekend.

Same. And you don't have to pay attention too much as they are very repetitive.

Perfect cleaning party music
MoonlitBlossoms@reddit
Oh man, depends on the mood. But probably some grunge/metal or 90’s-early 2000’s hip hop/rap if I’m not mad about cleaning. 😄

LCD Soundsystem - The Long Goodbye
Into-the-stream@reddit
Love lcd sound system. Any indie dance music.
I was trying to figure out what the running theme was behind the music I love. I like dance, but only a few artists. I like rap, but only some of it. Folk, rock, electronic.
Then I realized the common theme behind the artists I love: it’s authenticity. If it feels too “produced” or “corporate”, I don’t like it. It might BE corporate, but if it doesn’t FEEL like there is a big money machine behind it, then I’m more likely to get into it. LCD sound system is like that. They feel, I don’t know, real.
I don’t know if that makes any sense at all to anyone. Maybe I’m talking out of my ass to make myself feel like I’m cooler than I am. lol
HikingTom51@reddit
It makes perfect sense to me. I’ve noticed as I’ve gotten older that music needs to make me “feel” something for me to be interested. If I don’t hear any passion behind what I’m listening to and it feels too “produced” as you said, it won’t resonate with me.
I think it’s just as we grow our tastes refine and we know what we like abd we know what we don’t. We also know how precious time becomes as we get older so we won’t waste time in music that doesn’t do it for us. If nothing else, some random Redditor (me) completely understands how you feel.

I was trying to upload a picture, but I'm Xennial and I can't figure it out. Anyway, it's Stevie Ray Vaughn's album Texas Flood.
detourne@reddit
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - Orange. Especially with the track Bellbottoms. Used to play the vinyl in uni when we cleaned our house.
These days I play Queens of the Stone Age or Propagandhi when I do the dishes.

Whitney Houston, and I belt it out with her at the top of my lungs (just not as good, obviously)

They wrote a song called "Waiting For A Star To Fall." A very smart song.

I was in the top 0.0005% of listeners to this song on Spotify last year. My crowning achievement.

Now living in Australia, in Melbourne, I heard that Whitney's song "I wanna dance with somebody" was written by a brother and sister duo named "Boy Meets Girl."

No "War Of The Roses?" Debut direction by Danny De Vito.
80s_angel@reddit
I’m nostalgia so I typically played what ne would play when I was growing up. It’s not any particularly album, just a bunch of soul/R&B music from the 70’s and 80’s.
Competitive-Sweet25@reddit (OP)
I dig it man. Especially when you're vaccuming, and you just want a vibe. I get it.
thyleullar@reddit
The mood shifts: sometimes I request “90s hard rock,” sometimes it’s “80s hard rock,” or a custom playlist that spans 60s-80s.
ballen1002@reddit
I just put the classic rock channel on the tv. Sometimes I’ll throw on a playlist with music from when I was actually growing up, but I usually save that for the outdoor work/ recreation.
