Oh boy! Another boring ass shade of grey! As if I wasn't already disappointed enough that the upcoming GRC GRMN is only available in boring ass overdone colors, we get this.
spike021@reddit
the gr86 literally just had a yellow special edition.
Successful_Ad_9707@reddit
I'm more speaking generally, but the yellow does look good.
bikedork5000@reddit
Cars .com shows a grand total of three for sale nationwide. These special edition colors may as well not even exist if the production levels are so low.
ThePurpleCookies@reddit
I prefer desert khaki but both colors are neat I’d choose it if I were buying.
caterham09@reddit
Very unrelated, but has anyone seen the new molten magma magenta that Ford does on the mustang now? It's a fucking incredible color.
I'm legitimately looking at dark horses over the mach 1 just for the color
Significant-Dog-8166@reddit
Ford has been doing great colors for its sports cars lately. Toyota really lost the plot with gen 2 colors for GT86 models. I want a Gen3 to exist with sparkly medium tone purple, champagne wheels, and a Toyota-based engine. Until then I am staying put.
420khz@reddit
I like the genesis magma color the best but I havent seen Fords. Ford has the best reds along with Mazda and Lexus, I bet it is nice.

It's a very pretty color, although I'm partial to the teal they offer now. I test drove one recently and fell in love with the color almost as much as the V8. It pained me to walk off the lot, but it would have pained me more to spend the close to $60k they were asking lol.
4r4r4real@reddit
Yeah I'm sure they have some cool colors now or whatever but when it's fundamentally the same car that was going for the low $30s brand new 5 years ago I can't understand who is buying these.
caterham09@reddit
Adriatic blue would be the best color they've offered on a mustang in a long time, if molten magma magenta didn't come out at the same time.
I owned an s550 gt for a few years and sold it to save for something a bit more special. Never thought I'd even consider an S650, but I saw the magenta one at the dealer and I almost had to change my pants

I've always been more a fan of blues and greens, but I can appreciate a neat color when I see one. Ford did a great job with it.
Wish I had the spare cash and space for a toy like that, but the garage is already full and I can't bare to part with any of my fleet at present. Honestly if Ford was gonna butcher the Mustang name, I'd have rather they pop the 5.0 in a sedan rather than an EV crossover thing. That way I could at least justify potentially selling my GRC for it lol.
VirgoJack@reddit
Oh boy. More grey cars.
WillOTheSlime@reddit
I love this color, shoot me
Acevedo1992@reddit
We have it on our crosstrek and love it, would be hilarious if my BRZ matched, but I’m not taking a trade hit for a different color

pew pew
I wish they offered something new like a lime green but these have come in a good few nice colors so far.

NEW
NEW
NEW
wait
Remarkable_Ad5011@reddit
What happened to the rumor that the 86 was getting a Toyota engine this time?
spike021@reddit
you do know what a rumor is, right?
J_NonServiam@reddit
I think that's for gen 3, this is still technically the second generation car right?
LongjumpingLock5875@reddit (OP)
Not a great day for fans of brightly colored sports cars.
Both the Miata and GR86 getting new colors on the same day, and they are both grays.
spike021@reddit
the last special edition color was bright yellow...
This_Elk_1460@reddit
Nobody ever wants to make a teal car anymore
RevvCats@reddit
Mustang has Adriatic Blue, with optional white wheels.
andrewia@reddit
Surprisingly, the new Camry has a nice teal. 710 "ocean gem".
sc0lm00@reddit
Ford has a really pretty one too on the Mustang.
Stu__Pidasso@reddit
That color is absolutely gorgeous. I've seen it on a Sequoia as well and it hits, but not sure if they wrapped it or painted it
Oh_ffs_seriously@reddit
Funnily enough, that new Mazda gray has a teal tinge, rather than green. Of course, you need advanced forensic technology (MS Paint's color selection tool) to tell.
Finessence@reddit
I saw a teal ND today ironically.
Successful_Ad_9707@reddit
Jack from Savage Geese wrapped his GRC in teal when he had it and by god, it was magnificent. We need more teal cars.
NeonLime@reddit
I swear they are just propping up the wrap industry
420khz@reddit
I mean might as well get a stock color that doesn’t have an upcharge and wrap it literally whatever color/design you’d like it to be. Stock paint upcharges typically start at $500 and go up to p high depending on the brand. Wraps are like $1,500 max all in
JoyRydr@reddit
It doesn't make up for it but at least people can get a red interior and still add some flair to their car if they want. Kinda funny how they didn't bother to provide pictures despite it being more interesting than "Not Another Nardi Gray."
Straight_Violinist40@reddit
Great news for people who complained that the throttle mapping is too aggressive in the first third. Now this is inline with BRZ.
The only difference is just suspension stiffness?
LongjumpingLock5875@reddit (OP)
Except the manual BRZ now has a sport mode button that changes it between the Subaru version, and the Toyota version.
So you can decide between either.
ubermorph@reddit
Dawg, didn't you see?
Straight_Violinist40@reddit
I was referring to 95% power at 43% pedal.
AnnoyingRingtone@reddit
It teases me into thinking that my car has more power to offer because I’m only pressing the throttle halfway. Then I floor it and, “Oh.” Though honestly the most annoying is when you blip for downshifts and you send the revs to the moon because you tapped it just a tiny bit too much.
bikedork5000@reddit
Sigh..... The primer gray trend was played out by 2023 but automakers are still lazily humping it.
Chippy569@reddit
CGK is way more blue than gray, it's like pastel blue.
Domtux@reddit
Some of the conversations around buying cars among enthusiasts are so weird about colors.
People will pay many tens of thousands for a higher milage but more desirable color in their eyes, when you can pay somebody to do a better job than the factory for less and get any color you want. Can even wrap it for cheaper then peel the wrap for resale with the paint untouched by your time with it.
Vhozite@reddit
I hate greyscales, but I do think a red interior sounds cool (no pics?)
BlackDS@reddit
There's no such thing as a "cool" gray
XxICTOAGNxX@reddit
I'll never understand people who buy a cool car and decide that they want it to look like the factory couldn't be bothered to paint it.
null_not@reddit
I always called that color primer grey.
